Fabindia has many stores around India. Different parts of India, make ethnic products that are special to the place or region. I find that the fabrics that are woven traditionally, are the most comfortable that I have felt, and when they are Fabindia. I think people like to wear Fabindia shirts, more than the Indian kurta, as they are very ubiquitous(the shirts.) to India today.
The Lemongrass soap with natural loofah is a great bath product. The natural loofah is actually Chinese noodles, but I felt they were a plastic loofah, when I first used the soap. I wondered what is 'natural', and I didn't know what 'loofah' is, until I saw a bath gel that came with a 'loofah', a scrub that also lathers the soap. It's very much the most effective soap, (Lemongrass, Fabindia), that I have used. The noodles are very irritating, but as much as there are other soaps, this one is the best bath soap.
I was intrigued that Fabindia uses jute to make Kolhapuri chappals. The footwear must be lasting for years, but they are about two thousand rupees for a pair. Or the price must be less, if it is. Their other amazing products are furniture, hand crafted and unbelievable. I couldn't fathom how the ubiquitous chess table and chairs aren't in the furniture catalog design. The Belgaum store is pretty amazing, and I wonder where the flagship store is. Probably, New Delhi.
All in all, the store is amazing.
