Value for Money Dual sim phone; for Now. Review on FLY DS100

I brought this phone Fly DS100 in Feb this year, at a Price of Rs. 1, 700 now its Rs. 1, 600 after researching all the brands that are in the market at that time. This was only the better option for me back then when I was looking for a real cheap Dual-sim phone as within few months 3G phones will be coming to the Indian market & we are hoping for a faster data transfer also broadband internet once the 3G price wars and features starts, like it happened to the 2G competition.

Coming back to the details, features and performance of the phone Fly DS100; it is a dual-sim GSM + GSM phone without any advanced features except for making and receiving calls. It is dual standby which means, while we are engaged on one sim, the user who calls the other sim will get a user switched-off message.CameraN/A

The features of the Phone are:• GSM + GSM•  FM Radio and Recording• Battery Capacity 1000mAh, good Standby Time.• GPRS• Card Slot Expandable memory Up to 2 GB• Display Screen Resolution 128 X 128• Speaker Phone Yes• Special Feature Hindi Language support/ single LED Torch Light• Mp3 Ringtones and a good MP3 player, but there is no PC connectivity or PC suite.

This phone has USB connectivity, but it can only be used for charging; and we can transfer data from/to phone memory card as there is no PC suite and no data transfers.

Many people are complaining about the absence of  Delete/backspace/ Cancel button; the Torch Button can be used as Delete/backspace/ Cancel button while typing text. The one main negative point about the phone is it is getting hot while talking for few minutes, although the display is off while talking.The display is small 128 X 128 Resolution, as there is no Camera or movies to play it is OK as it also  saves battery.The battery life is decent which comes to me around 1 week, with little FM listening.

Wired headphone r included in the box, the salesman recommended me to take Zen mobile which has similar features and price but it also has Wireless headset, but as Zen is relatively new, I preferred Fly. For users who are looking for dual-sim phone; I will suggest to also take a look at the following brands:Fly mobiles.1) Zen mobiles, 2) Spice Mobiles, 3) Intex4) GeePee also there are Hundreds of New Entrants in the 2G phone market in the recent Months, like Lava, Maxx mobiles, Karbonn, Lemon, Onida etc, etc, I found the above four reasonable along with Fly with mobiles.Brands like Micromax, Videocon etc although sell similar handsets are charging more like Nokia, Herohonda etc, because of their brand value.Samsung is also having very good dual-sim phones in the ranges from Rs.4, 000 to 15, 000.

The future will be in Dual-sim market till the MNP comes to town, as New 2G telephone operators (Uninor, docomo.) are giving attractive talk-plans and its difficult to change the old costly number (like airtel, Vodafone etc)By the time you go to Market to buy a handset there will be many more new models and brands which will be much cheaper than this, as the handset value for 2G is coming down and demand for high-end 3G is the Future for the mobile companies, they will dump all their old technologies for throwaway Prices, so be ready to catch those.
