I hold an ICICI bank platinum credit card. In recent times there have been a lot of advertisements in papers and mass-mailers promoting the 50% cash back on flight tickets & hotel bookings made on ezeego1.com using ICICI Bank Platinum card.
I normally use to book flight tickets on yatra.com, but seeing this offer I though of trying it out. I booked 2 tickets on Kingfisher Airlines from Bangalore to Delhi. I was pleasantly surprised to receive the cash back amount of 50% within next few days of the booking. I was pretty happy.
After a few weeks, we were planning a weekend trip to Coorg. We finalised on the resort and got a deal from the resort booking office. They were charding Rs. 12800/- for 2 nights inclusive of all meals and taxes. After blocking the rooms with them, it occured to me why not try Ezeego1.com if they have any deal for this resort. Indeed it was there. They were also charging Rs. 12800/-, but the lunch wasn ot included in their package. Ofcourse, the cash back of 50% was promised. I went ahead with the booking with Ezeego1.com. The next day I got the confirmation and my confirmation voucher number was EZR-2008-396094. This was during last week of May and I had booked the resort for 5th June 2007 - 7th June 2007. A couple fo days before the trip, I called up the resort to confirm my booking. The booking was very much there.
My stay at the resort was not that great, though it has nothing to do with Ezeego1.com as they are mere facilitators according to me.
Regarding the cash back of 50% on the base fare, I am still waiting for the same. It has been almost 21 days(which is the time period they declare it takes for the cash back to be credited) and I am yet to receive the same. I called up their customer care and they told me that the cash back takes 21 days from the date of check-out from the hotel and asked me to be patient.
I just hope that they keep their promise, though the reviews on this website have not been very encouraging. What I don't understand is that when on earlier 2 occassions, the cash back was credited to my account with-in 3-4 days of making the booking, why is it taking so long in this case. May be it has to do with the amount, where in earlier cases it was just in the range of Rs. 1000/-, this time it is not a small amount of Rs. 6000/- approx.
It seems Ezeego1.com has stopped this offer for now, so the readers of this reviews need not worry about going through the same situation. But there are a lot other such offers, which one needs to be very careful about. In my case, I have decided to wait for 21 days and incase I don't receive the cash back amount as promised, I will think of taking legal actions.
