I had booked a two-bedroom apartment in Dubai through Expedia and made the payment in full in advance - Rs.70K for 9 days. When I reached the hotel, to my astonishment, the hotel refused to check me in stating that they do not have any reservation. I showed them a printed copy of Expedia Confirmation Voucher but they stated that the booking was not there in their system. My hell started at that time and for next 4 hours, I had called Expedia office in Gurgaon several times and spoke to many telecallers. Each one keeps me on hold for 23 min to 32 min and then cut off. My holiday was ruined. Finally in the evening someone from Expedia US called me and arranged an alternate hotel accommodation for me which was no where near what I booked for. I had no choice and was exhausted and hence stayed in this new hotel. What is the responsibility of Expedia? None contacted me afterwards nor offered any explanation. It is disgusting.
