I have been using Amaron and AMCO batteries they turned out really good and lasted at least through the warranty period and some times beyond. Now coming to Exide battery which I switched lately for my bike as I was getting a good bargain plus its established market brand.


it is a 9AH bike battery with 18 months warranty, so I bought it from a battery shop in Pune around 7 months back. it ran pretty descent for 7 months but from past one week it developed a fault where in battery goes low from full charged state as soon as bike starter cranks twice or thrice.


I started troubleshooting by cranking with my scooter battery which cranks my bike right away. so one can rule out any electrical fault in bike.


As EXIDE battery was in fault and in 18 warranty, I went ahead and register a claim first via web link https://exidecare.com/register-your-battery/ but somehow it didn't work! so next option I choose was to call on EXIDECARE No - 18001035454 register a claim.


Once I was done registering claim, it generated SMS with a REF No: WMHA00009466V489 and Happiness code: xxxx which you one needs share with service personal on satisfied claim closure! anyway I went ahead and asked executive whats ETA on warranty claims. she said 24 hours unfortunately which didn't happen, so I called next day and ETA was 48 hrs than next day 72 hrs!


but finally some local EXIDE dealer called on 4th day and started asking where you bought the battery from and do you have bill etc. so I gave him all required information but there was trick the EXIDE dealer was trying to play as next thing he asked that did you receive any SMS on claim registered date. I said let me check then I said yes I did. so he asked can you share happiness code but as I smell some thing fishy and said how I can share it when nothing is been done regarding the my warranty claim soon he cut the call and I called twice it kept ringing. next day I called customer care narrated whole incident, the executive said she has raised complaint to senior department and some one will get in touch soon but I has been more 15 days no one did nothing .


SO BOTTOM LINE IS EXIDE ALONG WITH ITS LOCAL OR ONLINE DEALERS ARE TRICKING AND SELLING CUSTOMER IN NAME OF WARRANTY WHICH IS FALSE NAMESAKE AND CUSTOMER WILL NEVER GET ONCE SOMETHING GOES WRONG IN THE BATTERY!


SO MY REQUEST IS .GUYS PLEASE EXPLORE OTHER LOCAL OPTIONS AND DON'T RUN BEHIND THESE BIG BRANDS IT'S NOT WORTH PAYING DOUBLE OR THREE TIMES JUST BECAUSE THEY MAKE SOME PROMISES IN NAME OF WARRANTY. WHICH AT THE END TURNS OUT TO BE FALSE AND DECEIVING!
