This is my first vacuum cleaner, bought in 2009 from Big Bazar, Kharagpur.
The primary mover for buying this product is the name Eureka Forbes and the beautiful adverts they show on TV - "Eureka Forbes, your friends for life", where smiling agents from the company seem to offer their service with the happiness in the world.
The adverts are good, but that does not mean it will happen in reality as well. The basic problem with the vacuum cleaner is that, you can not use the pipes meant to elongate the distance between the cleaner and end point of the suction tube. This is because the product is poorly designed; it cannot take the weight of the pipes and the small latches give up every single time you set up the pipes.
I think the dimwits team that designed the product forgot the fact that due to poor latching, half the product will flip open and tumble down due to the additional weight of the extension pipes, and as a result might crack. For me, it did not crack, but I ended up holding the part that contains the suction motor, and the dust filter on one hand, while the rest was lying on the ground.
Since the Vacuum Cleaner can generate a power of only 800 watts, its not very powerful if you consider cleaning the channels in your aluminium window slides. The only good it is for is to clean carpets, and unfortunately, I use them only during winter.
I spoke to the customer care and they were not as smiling as shown in the advertisements. They were more interesting in acquainting me with exchange offers I might be interested in, assuring of special offers "Just for me" which would expire by the end of that day. On pressing further, they told me that they could not do anything since the machine was at least working.
So much so, for a product worth Rs. 3000.
Eureka Forbes, you are a cheat.
