On Eureka forbes website, I had submitted a request for a demo of vacuum cleaner on 8 Sep.
Within a few minutes a got a call from Eureka Forbes, Jamshedpur and again in the evening from a
salesman wanting to demo a vacuum cleaner. I fixed the demo the next day i.e 9th Sep.
The salesman promptly came exactly at the right time.
I asked him to show me a brochure of all the models that Eureka Forbes is selling here.
He told me he is not having any brochure and they only sell one model that of Euroclean XForce here.
He showed me the demo for Euroclean XForce.
I was not impressed with the suction power of this machine.
I asked for for the manual for this model. He said he doesn't have the manual
and he will come the next day with the manual.
The next the salesman arrived again. But this time he came with a new boxed packed XForce Model and another person(I think he was the branch manager but not sure. He told me he was working
for 32 years in Eureka Forbes. I have his mobile number though)
I had never confirmed with the salesman that I'm going to buy it.
I told the salesman and his boss that I'm not entirely satisfied with the suction power of this
model and I think it is overpriced for its power and features.
The XForce is priced at Rs 7990. If you buy from a retail outlet, you can get a similar vacuum cleaner
from Eureka Forbes- Trendy Steel at Rs 6290. But is a bit less powered by 100W.
The branch manager told me that the service network of Eureka Forbes do not service the products or do not service it properly if bought from the retail shops. To get service from Eureka Forbes network you have to buy a higher priced machine even if a similar product is available at a far lesser price from the same company.
The branch manager also told me that XForce has the the MOST powerful motor and suction power among ALL the vaccum cleaners in India. I told him it is FALSE.
Then, he challenged me to show ANY vacuum cleaner in India with service center in Jamshedpur .
If I showed him one, he will buy 10 pieces of it and if I can't show him one I were to buy 10 pieces of
XForce. I accepted his challenge.
I took my laptop and in 15 mins showed him a vacuum cleaner that was more powerful with lot
more features that XForce at the same price.
So, I just refused to buy the vacuum cleaner from him.
Having lost the challenge, the branch manager did not offer to buy 10 vacuum cleaners from
the other Brand either.
Here comes the most interesting part
Earlier I had told the branch manager that, I had bought an water purifier from Eureka Forbes.
The branch manager threatened me that since I'm not buying the overpriced machine, he will
NOT properly service my water purifier.
While leaving he repeatedly told me that
He will make sure that I run around to get my water purifier serviced.
This whole incident should tell you a lot about Eureka Forbes.
Since Eureka Forbes representative is here in mouthshut, I'm taking the liberty to ask him a
few questions
1)If you book a demo at home for any product from EuroClean, is it mandatary to buy it?
2)If you buy a Eureka Forbes product from a retail outlet, is the service network of Eureka Forbes going to service it or not?
3)If I refuse to buy a product from Eureka Forbes, can Eureka Forbes deny to service any product that I had bought earlier from them?
I have nothing more to add about this company and its salesman or representatives.
I'm never going to buy any products from Eureka Forbes and I'll make sure that none of my
colleagues/friends/relatives buy it either.
For others, you can judge for yourself.
Even after this if you decide a product from Eureka Forbes, verify ALL
claims made by the salesman.
Added Later:
The branch manager had also told me that if I showed him a more powerful vacuum cleaner,
he will dump the box packed vacuum cleaner he was carrying with him.
He did not do that either.
So if you are buying anything from Eureka Forbes
1)Never trust the salesman. verify everything independently.
2)They seldom if ever keep their promise.
So get everything in writing especially the service terms.
Get it in writing that if they don't service your product after say within 7 days of your requesting
a service, you have the right to demand full money back of the product or any suitable compensation.
