We have bought this TotalRO model paying 10K from Eureka Forbes around 18 months back and the problem started within 3 months of purchase when a service engineer visited and tested water to observe very low TDS (around 7) which is not good for drinking. Here, I think somehow he tricked us to change the filter from RO to UV and later my mother-in-law complained that he installed second hand (used) filter as the filter he brought had no seal. But when I called him, he justified himself by swearing on god. After a month another service Engineer visited us though we never complained or asked anyone to look at it. He tested to find the TDS too high (around 200). This time I was at home and asked him for the explanation which was not satisfactory. I called toll free support right in front of him to complain about this incident. All of a sudden, this Engineer got terrified with this development, started apologizing and assured me to change the filter to RO again without applying charges.
Luckily, this filter lasted for a while and different service Engineers use to visit every two-three months once to do servicing, though we never called them. After one year, one guy called "Chalapathy" came over and explained about AMC (Annual maintenance contract) to us. He said all filters would cost around 3000 and need to be replaced every year with service charge of 350 Rs. But with AMC, we have to pay just 3000 Rs per year for full service under which warranty also get covered. This guy started to follow up with us like a Sales Rep every now and then, He also use to come over to do servicing every month.
We trusted this chap and felt AMC as a better option and opted for it. This chap assured us to replace all the filters and do annual service very soon. It has been four months since then, I never seen those Eureka Forbes faces again at my door step. Every time I call them, they have only one answer that they would be visiting us in 2-3 days which has not happened so far.
So much drama these people would do to sell AMC (Actually for the commission). They go the extent of free servicing and with frequent follow-ups in the guise of testing water quality. After customer buys AMC, they never care them again. Same thing happened to my neighbour from the same service guy. So please beware of these people and never fell for the trick they do to sell AMC.
