I am a user of this model of water filter made by Eureka Forbes, and it is still under warranty.


Even though Eureka Forbes products may be good(or maybe bad, I dont have any experience with the competition, which might be better), their after sale service is quite bad.


As per the person who installed the filter, it should be serviced every 6 months.


Whenever I call their customer care number, I keep repeating the request number, ask them to follow up, tell them about the delay in service but the CCEs are taught to parrot just one line - "Sir I understand your problem, and we will make sure your problem is resolved".  I then ask them to tell me the time and date when the service person will attend to the problem and they tell me some vague date and time.  I wasted three weekends waiting at home for the service personnel to turn up.  I ask them to give a definite time so that I can be at home, and not waste my time. Again they will parrot the same line about understanding my problem etc.  It goes round and round.


One fine day, the service personnel calls me up on a busy Monday afternoon.  I ask him to come in the evening instead after office hours, or on Tuesday morning(I was prepared to go to office late for a day).  But no one turns up.  Sorry state of affairs indeed.


Finally on the fourth weekend, a serviceman turns up.  He opens up the filter.  The filter is all covered in mud(thanks to monsoon water supply).  While cleaning it, he breaks a small plastic angle pipe. He does not have a replacement part either in his bag.  He goes back, returns after 15 minutes with another part and continues.  The guy seemed to be confused.  In fact, once, I told him how to open the casing of the filter.(Not that I like to disturb someone doing his work, but then, I was sure he was going to break lot of things if I dont keep an eye on him).


Anyway, the filter has pretty good water flow rate. It does look good but it definitely is delicate(it has many thin low quality plastic parts).  I have rated it low on ease of cleaning and service and support.  The after sale service is a pain.  As for cleaning, it should be simple enough for even a layperson to open the filter and replace it if needed.  It isnt.  But then, a service personnel should be able to quickly open the filter.  But no, it is not easily serviceable. The filter isnt as easy to clean as it seems.


I dont know about other filters in the market, like philips or whirlpool.  The Whirlpool after sale service is very bad(even LG and Samsung service is better than Whirlpool.)  Dont know about Philips, but seems good featurewise.
