Yes, God! I could only think of HIM when it comes to water. Such is the power, the magic of plain simple water. It works the best at quenching your thirst. Even a sip of cold water when you are thirsty soothes you, relaxes you and you are most grateful to the person who offers you water. You bless him and he collects what is called ''punya'' (holy blessings).

I am imagining how much of holy blessings does Eureka Forbes get? The person who sold us the Euroclean Jet sent another representative who sold us the Aquaguard Classic Compact Cartridge. Every time I sip water from that glass, I know I am drinking clean safe water and I thank Eu. Fb. for their wonderful product. I would also like to share with you some information about this product.

The unit looks like the Roman III. The left and right limbs are steel cylinders and the top, bottom portions and central limb are made of ABS plastic. The central limb is white in color, while the top and bottom portions are brown in colour (but I have generally seen the blue coloured models). It has three soft buttons for switching the water flow and music on/off and LEDs for indicating ON/OFF of status of the unit. An instruction to use it is on top of the LEDs. Above that is the water outlet pipe. The entire unit can be conveniently mounted on the kitchen wall and doesn't quite occupy much space (roughly 1 ft X 1 ft).

The filtration is done in three stages:
Pre-filter: If anyone has seen the two tank water filter and the filter rods inside, one can easily envisage the pre-filter cartridge. It has a graded density structure - like a well knitted sieve within a slightly bigger sieve. Water first enters into this sediment filter. It filters out mostly macroscopic particles like dust, mud and such particulate matter.
Carbon filter: The pre-filter leaves a fairly clean looking water (which may have odors and bacteria), which passes into the carbon rod cartridge. The carbon rod is effective and filtering out odors and organic impurities and also adsorbs color. The water supplied by BMC undergoes chlorine treatment and there may be some residual chlorine particles, which are not good for our health. This carbon rod is effective at removing these chlorine particles.
The carbon rod and the sediment filter candle are integrated in a single cartridge, so as to achieve a compact cartridge, which makes things convenient to remove/install and maintain. This makes it unique to the earlier models.
UV Light:
Particles gone, odour gone, colour gone. Now what are left are the bacteria. The water is subjected to UV radiation. The unit has 8 W ultraviolet lamp that eliminate all the bacteria there exists in the water.
Now you have clean, pure and safe water at the outlet.

The UV lamp, water filtration activity and purification level is monitored by a central unit. In fact the unit operates and stops the water flow, if it discovers that purification is inadequate. How it does this is a mystery to me, maybe not for chemical engineers. Then again the unit has voltage stabilizer to ensure constant voltage supply to the UV unit.

Oh yes, it does require maintenance, the filter candle can be washed clean. After every two years, we get the cartridge and lamp replaced. All you have to do is call the Eureka man and he comes, cleans the unit, check the lamp and replaces as deemed fit. Plain and simple! You just have to shell a lot of money.
But then a disease free life is worth all that money!
