Check in staff at LHR gave me goosebumps. Had a piece of paper thrust in my face after I had checked all my bags in and later found that what it really meant was that even though I had been informed by their customer services that I was allowed 10kg on flight, it had been reduced to 7kg, A laptop is free but not the charger or bag it came with, and if I had up to 7kgs I could forget about buying any duty free as it was £10 per additional KG.
I was forced to abandon many items and I am still waiting to find out where they are. My hand luggage was the checked in without my knowledge causing endless amount of distress not least as it contained my medication and it was unlocked. Airplane was ancient, entertainment was poor and the hostesses were discourteous.
The food was ok though it took them a while to serve it and even longer to pick up the empties. Because of this, it's easy to see why you would struggled to get some refreshments. It was so disappointing on a flight from ADD-LHR, you may get a similar meal to a lunch and a piece of cake and tea for breakfast just as you are flying over Rome. I met one of the rudest people ever in a passenger service manager called Ian. Bole is as many people have described it and it's mental torture to have to spend 7 hours inside till your next flight. Avoid at all costs - you cannot put a price on such inconvenience.
