I registered to repair my Laptop DELL 620 Latitude. It had two problems.
Some keys had come out of keyboard and I wanted to replace it.(I had those keys with me).
Heating problem.
I was initially told, they will do full servicing, install all softwares, antivirus etc. in addition and service cost was expected to be paid at the time of giving laptop to service Engineer. I was also told they will perform quality checks before delivery. How tall and false claims they make!
After I paid Rs1500 and gave the laptop to service engineer, I got a call after 4-5 days saying they need an approval for Rs2000 for the new keyboard which I agreed.
They also asked me to replace motherboard costing Rs 10, 000. Who on their right mind will allow that. I said dont replace motherboard. Then they told they will replace power management IC and charge me Rs1400 for that. Any body working in hardware will tell you PM IC will cost something like 5USD or 250Rs.
Finally the nightmare starts,
I heard from them saying, it will be delivered and all problems are solved, I saw that heating problems still remain. But when the delivery guy comes, before showing the laptop, he asks give me Rs 3400. I ask him, dont you have any moral responsibility to show what repair you have done and demonstrate it has been repaired.
On switching ON, keyboard has been replaced, but there is no change wrt heating. I called the call centre guys, but they dont know.the guy who delivers the laptop was a delivery guy who dont know.Then who actually knows.No ANSWER.
I again told him, you take it back, solve the issue and bring it back. After 2-3 days I get a call from call centre that there is NO ISSUE. But anybody would realize the heating within 3 mins. Again they send a delivery guy who has no idea.what happened.i couldnt get any representative on call centre who answers in a responsible way.
ANY CONSUMER HAS THE RIGHT TO ASK QUESTIONS IN PROPER MANNER. iT IS THE DUTY OF SERVICE PROVIDERS TO ANSWER WHEN THEY ARE CHARGING THIS PREMIUM.
CALL CENTERS SHOULD NOT BE USED TO HIDE BEHIND IMPROPER SERVICING.
MY ADVISE:
Save your time, money by going to the shop which is near your house. You'll save money.
If you go to authorized repair centres, you save time, but are sure your problems will be charged. Though you may pay higher, you get peace of mind.
NEVER EVER GO TO ETECHIES, to save your time, money and peace of mind.
