I still remember that day– when I came to know that I had to go to our corporate office in Trivandrum(Kerala) for a global official meet celebrating company’s 7th Foundation day. I was way too excited as I had recently joined the organization and was still learning whose who of what types.

Although I was not that keento go as my darling princess was hardly 20 days old and I couldn’t take them anyways with me and living without them for about a week that too in an alien land was not that exciting to me.

Second best thingabout this meet was that one of my very fast friend Raviwas coming too and this was my only chance to unite with him before he flies off to US of A. I made up my mind and told the travel desk to book the tickets, the closest and the fastest way to reach Trivandrum from North India was through Mumbai, they booked me on a Jet Airways flight, Indore to Mumbai to Trivandrum.

The flight was a fantastic oneas the Jet Captain was kind enough to announce the beautiful regions as we reached TVM on the left or the right side and will turn the plane at such an angle that both sides public enjoyed the views, that’s the first time I had seen that kind of a thing done by any airline in India.

Trivandrumis one city you fall in love with – the moment you land in there, it feels as if you are almost landing on the sea and not on earth. Beaches are beautiful and the lines of so many boats are something I had never seen in my life earlier. Although temperature is a bit humid at all times but is ok. Lots of Coco Trees you can see on all sides of the road.

All kinds of two wheelers – ancient ones too are available on the city roads, I was glad to see people wearing lungi’s riding a hero Honda or best a TVS Champ which is like every 3rd two wheeler in here.

Cityboasts of no Multiplexes and no huge shopping malls yet, so no traffic jams on the roads and unnecessary chaos – of which we are so much used to. You can see so many small joints all across the town offering quick cheap bites of whatever you wish for. Food was quite ok.

Finally we reached our destination that was Techno Park Campus at the one end of the city and took the company bus towards Estuary Island which was almost like a 20 KM drive from the main city. Now I had no idea what it would be like, as you can make out with those pictures up above that bus took us till one point and had to take a boat from there to the Estuary where Sea, River and the Lands meet. The site is so terrifically beautiful that I cannot explain it in words; you’ve got to see it for yourself.

This is one place where you can sit with your loved ones hand in hand and don’t need to speak anything. No requirement of any kind of music at all, the sound of nature is too good to ask for anything else. Temperature is perfect for a volleyball game in the sand. Take your cloths off – buy a new trunk available everywhere in those small shops(OK buy the trunk first than take off cloths!) and jump in the water with those cute little kids, who are more than willing to find the coins and specially pens you toss in the water, we call them coin divers, and believe me they are too good.

Do not carry anythingwhich is not water resistant, I carried my camera that’s why you can see me all the time behind it and not in front of it as I was not so glad to hand it over to anybody, what if ………….? Anyways.

If you don’t know swimming– right like me than this is one place you will curse yourself like hell that why didn’t you listened to your parents when they were behind you all the time to learn swimming.

As you can see I had to be helped from my friends to cross the point where River and Sea meet and again while coming back the tide was too high and I was almost under water neck deep.

You can very well cover the Estuary Island in less than a day but the games we play and the running and sight seeing we did – It leaves you exhausted by the time sun sets on the Sea.

It is a fundoo sight to see the sun setting on the Sea waves and the photographs look as if it’s not you or me who has taken them but it’s Mr. Raghu Rai who is behind the lens.

*A fantastic place to visit at all seasons.

*A memory you will cherish for life for sure.

We are planning to go again as now our princess is almost a year old and soon she will be able to run and play games we played on the beach – I guess.

Ratings and Comments are more than welcome.*

That’s the best I could have done with the camera – so please don’t mind if its not upto the mark.
