Well I bought this printer 1.5 year ago around in 2013 dec apx
as I need a printer that can print color and also use as photocopier than I surveyed and choose this online but purchased offline
price:9500 apx
1) well one most imp one is also usp of this epson model is that this is I think first official ciss installed printer offered by epson or any other company and to refill this model 4 tank is like child play just open individual ink tank cap and top up ink with individual oem original epson bottle that at present cost is rs 441 but without bill it may cost less around 350/bottle well bottle is 70 ml each one color and enough to refill each tank 1.2 times .
whichever tank ink goes low just check it as tank are semi transparent and u can check ink level by ur eyes easily and top up that tank without any hassle just take some patience while topping up tank as squeezing ink bottle may lead to spillout of ink everywhere so it just take 2-4 minute per tank to refill just squeeze slowly slowly so that ink wouldn't spill out or mess up printer .
2) scanner and one touch copying facility in both b&w and color
scan will thru scanner utility from pc and copy function without any connection to pc just put ur document on scanner bed and touch copy button and u will get black and white one in 15-20sec or color in 30sec-1 minute apx depend on document
3) print speed here is not too fast about black and white 8ppm and in draft mode apx 10ppm and color 6ppm
4) u can print on photo paper, envelope etc photo comes good but I used 6*4 desmat glossy photo paper that photo faded just within one year I think either paper is bad or ink is waterproof
5) one of the bad thing that is document size for scan and copy is max a4 size that hinder this product usage as copier in house as many time legal size or other size need to xerox but almost 95% copy function limit to standard a4 size that so not bad at all means overall u cant copy doc size more than a4 paper size
6)i tried many brand copier paper jk, century, tnpl
I liked tnpl quality most and best print result in this printer but as its thick paper it jams printer if u gave too many prints at a time but thats not frequent thing
7) another thing that is most annoying in this printer that u need to print both b&w and color printer almost once every three days else print head will be blocked and u need to use first head clean facility and in last power flush that consume almost 1/6 each tank every time to flush print head nozzle to get back normal prints so if u wanna purchase it better remember to use it frequently else this printer will be headache for you
8) it gave me 2500 normal print black and white in one black ink bottle
I already printout apx 5000 print till now and using third black ink bottle .
so 330/2500 0.13 rs or 13 paisa per print ink cost color one I use often rarely so they r still that comes with printer and no idea what will be exact apx color ink consumption
9) it will hold apx 50 paper in input tray easily after that jamming problem comes easily
10) no connectivity option only one usb input given that cable also not so of good length in this modern era company need to give atleast bluetooth or wireless printing
11) epson printing software are easy to install and use and this mpdel one have no more fancy option just basic printing with good function u can print two sided or booklet by software function only and need to feed paper manually to print two sided
12)it take 30sec to one minute to ready for print consume too less electricity than laser so better leave it one if use frequently in whole day as it save ink too as I read somewhere on internet that each and every time inkjet on off they use ink to check nozzle are ok to print
13) some suggestion to improve this product that I think after using it for more than year are:-
-increase scan or copy size for document
-gave ink reset option in software instead either printer do it own or we need to try combination of printer button to do that without any information .
-provide full solid cover for input and output bay so that printer feel safe from rat, lizard etc
and also provide good quality pvc transparent cover to keep printer safe from dust
overall is good
