Envy by Gucci for Women

Top Notes: Hyacinth, magnolia, and vine flower

Heart Notes: Violet, jasmine, lily of the valley

Base Notes: Musk, iris

It comes in a transparent plastic case and the bottle is no eye-catcher…

We’re talking a very taboo subject of body odors here , excuse me..

However well one is groomed , the absence of deodorant or perfume especially for ones who sweat a wee bit too much can be a real put-off .

If you remember the lovely song duet between ‘Rajesh Khanna’ and ‘Farida Jalal’ in the movie Aaradhana - ~~ baaghon mein bahaar ~~, can you imagine what the duo put up with??? (do tell me what’s amiss..)

Sitting/Standing in un-ventilated, air-conditioned, cozy office spaces, elevators, subways - breathing and smelling whiff's of perfumes and body odors can be very taxing on the brain.

The sudden gentle breeze of flowers ~~~ takes you by surprise and you think, WOW !! What's she wearing??…

It is said that : Each and every perfume has a different resulting scent and it always depends on who is wearing it, as each individual has their own smell and body chemistry and hence the outcome … A woman's opinion in perfumes is the best… (no gender partiality here ).

Have gone through the phase of trying out Calvin Klein to Elizabeth Taylor to Armani to Ralph Lauren to Perry Ellis, but, none of these had that lovely lingering , mellow perfume..

Amidst these, when Ms. Saleslady tried to convince three gregarious women with Chanel 5 , Poison et al.. it met with sheer disapproval.

Our heads and noses were reeling under the effect of the testers. Coffee beans were the day savers.. rather nose savers. (after an overdose of smelling perfumes , coffee bean smell helps in neutralizing or numbing the scents inhaled)

Our hour-long break at the mall was coming to an end.. Suddenly six eyes spotted 'Envy' and 'Inner Realm'..

Envy was absolutely lovely, light and flowery with that faint hint of jasmine, lavender and lily.

Decided it was my kind and said - Ok I'm taking this, let me spray this on myself .. a generous whish -whoosh

Ms. Saleslady was all smiles …. Suddenly the other two realized we didn't test 'Inner Realm'– and there was another winner.

My brain and nose were scent-dead by then. Coffee Beans didn't work.. Puzzled and Totally confused just bought 'Inner Realm' !!!!!….

As we walked back a gentle flowery whiffpervaded and three of us instinctively looked around – none in sight….

As we entered the glass door my envious exhilarating perfume permeated past Ms. Serious who remarked – That’s a lovely perfume you're wearing and its kinda formal too ..

So, 'Envy' it was… refreshing, mild, lingering and invigorating. The mellow fragrance of jasmine and lavender is what lingers on and on..

An excellent buy for warmer months. Suitable for semi-formal, casual occasions.

Would definitely recommend that you buy a sampler and test it for atleast a day to see if it suits you. You could find it in any of the perfume stores. It makes a wonderful gift to a woman irrespective of age.

The 30 ml. bottle costed approx. $28/- against an M.S.R.P of $45/-
