Hi, All of you please watch "Surrogates" (2009) movie now being telecast in Star movies TV channel starring Bruce willis. The movie is generations ahead of Endhiran / The Robot of Rajanikanth in displaying the use of robots by society.
Also if you have got time Please watch the " Bicentennial Man " (1999) movie starring Robin Williams, also a great and sensible robot movie.
I do not understand what is all the big fuss being made about this endiharan / the [immature] robot !
Our poor Heros in a typical Indian masala film, even after becoming Robot have to run around the trees and salivate at heroines, just because we do not have any better imagination to tell a new story to our folks.
Even if any body tries to tell a new story in India, the film will be a big failure, because our people will not accept / like a new different story. May be we always prefer old wine in a new bottle!
That it is why our dear producer and director Shanker, even after spending Rs 150 Crores on a film, have got excellent special effects made in a hollywood studio lab but played safely with the same old Indian run of the mill story.
Even the good old "Terminator" (1984) movie starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, one of the first robot movies directed by the famous James Cameron had a different imaginative story line!
When will our preferences change, so that our film makers can dare to give us great films with a different story line !
Anyway Endhiran/The Robot is an overall entertaining movie especially for Children, a typical Indian Masala movie with excellent special effects. Just switch off your grey cells for a while, let the Majic of beautiful Aish & style king Rajani work on you and simply enjoy the movie.
