The English Teacher. Review on English Teacher, The - R K Narayan

This novel in the series of Bachelor of Arts and the English Teacher is a wonderful revelation of human psychology and the deep imprint of the cultural ethos on the settings in Malgudi.

Dubbed as R K Narayan's autobiography, this piece is a story of the English Teacher Krishnan and his wife Leela. They are ordinary husband and wife till some day his wife falls ill. There are touching instances one which I remember is the doctor referring to this wife as a patient. Till such time he was not bothered by the fact that his wife was ill. Suddenly he is overweighed by the remark made by the doctor.

Then there are incidents and instances after his wife's death which are supernatural in real sense.

An intricately and emotional woven story of a husband whose longing for his wife is unparallel and has lost her to the tide of time.

Yet another wonderful masterpiece form none other than R K N.

I know I should do more justice than write small paragraph. Wait till I return with a more detailed review on the same. It is just a great feeling when you think you have read R K N. And that same feeling now made me write this.
