Eminem rocks. Review on Eminem Show - Eminem

His lyrics might sound ironically scornful, contemptuous or even prodigious and gets people wondering what his inspiration is? But it isn’t his lyric alone that is getting peoples attention. This 29 year old rapper has left half the world in awe.

Marshall Mathers (best known as EMINEM) was born in Kansas City USA and spent most of his childhood traveling back and forth from KC to Detroit.

He had his big break in 1996 when he released his album ‘Infinite’. Though this album didn’t do very well on the charts, he conceded he had nothing to lose but something to gain. He released his second album ‘The Slim Shaddy LP’ in 1997. It was then when people began to recognize and endorse his talent.

It was in 1999 when he showed people what he was really made of by releasing his third album named ‘The Slim Shaddy LP’ which was consecutively followed by ‘The Marshall Mathers LP’ in 2000. This album contained hits like ‘the real slim shaddy’, ‘my fault’ and ‘Stan’. His rise to stardom was far from easy but with hard work and industry, he proved his worth. EMINEM got all the support and publicity he deserved with the help of his producer Dr Dre.

In the summer of 2002 EMINEM released his fifth and by far the most successful album of his to date. It was simply called ‘THE EMINEM SHOW’. It sold about 9 million copies in the US alone. His first single ‘Without me’ was so good it took only 36 hours to top the Billboard charts.

This album has 15 songs and 5 rather eccentric skits. It also popular songs like the rebellious ‘Cleaning out my closet’, ‘Sing for the moment’ (inspired by Aerosmith’s Dream on), the weary ‘Superman’, ‘White America’, ‘Say what you say’ and a host of others. It also has ‘Hailie’s song’ a song specially dedicated to his daughter Hailey Jade. Another song ‘My dad’s gone crazy’ actually features Hailey herself singing a part of a song.

Eminem also rerecords his songs deleting all the profanity just for his daughter. After a bad divorce with ex-wife Mariah he decided he needed to spend more time with his daughter.

Eminem was also greatly appreciated when his movie ‘8 mile’ released in early November. It was kind of his autobiography. He starred opposite to Brittany Murphy who claims EMINEM is an exceptional actor and a wonderful person.

Though people consider him to be reprobate, EMINEM has proved them wrong with all his success. The Eminem Show was nominated for 5 Grammy nominations in 2003 including ‘Album of the year’ and ‘song of the year’. He took home 2 of the Grammys.

With a multi-platinum selling album on hand and a national tour coming up in the USA there is no doubt that more success and fame yet in store for him. His is the King of rap indeed.
