Elica Vetro 773 CT Ai – Maintenance nightmare. Review on Elica 773 CT Vetro Ai Burners

I purchased Elica hob and chimney(Elica Vetro 773 CT Ai – Auto Ignition 3 burner cooktop) in a combined deal. After some online research and reviews, I decided to go for Elica.

Pros:

1. Decent outer looks – Black Glass top

3. Saves gas as compared to my old regular burner

   
   




4. Three burner is suitable and useful

   
   

Cons:

1. Maintenance nightmare

a. Started from 2nd month. Gas flame started decreasing. Soon it was difficult to cook.

b. Called the Elica service center in Kerala. Regular service charges are 250 Rs as per Kerala person but Bangalore service coordinator refused to send anyone for less than 300 Rs.

i. Note: Two year warranty covers only parts replacement excluding the glass top. It does not cover any service charges even in the warranty period

c. Service person came. He just opened the brass nozzle for each screw and tightened the screws back up. Gas started coming in.

d. Explanation for the issue: There are some impurities in my HP gas cylinder which is blocking its small brass nozzle.

i. Only this never happened in last 10 years with my previous gas burners or anyone I know of

Current Situation: Every 1-2 months, you need to open up the Elica Vetro 773 CT Ai – Auto Ignition 3 burner cooktop and clean up the nozzle. Pain to call service persons and coordinate that. Especially since you need to coordinate it over a weekend. I had spent over 900 Rs in this useless maintenance in 5 months and then decided to do it myself. But doing it every 1-2 months is undesirable pain.

Further Information:

1. Chimney is working fine. No complaints there.
