After trying several vacuum cleaners (eg. Hoover Wind Tunnel Self Propelled upright, EuroPro Shark, Eureka), I decided that I would buy THE BEST.

I have been using Electrolux Vacuum cleaners in 4 continents for 3 decades and have always been extremely satisfied. So, after reading the reviews for ''The Best Vacuum Cleaners at allergybvuyers.com, where the Oxygen spots a rating, I purchased the OXYGEN ULTRA.

I have absolutely no complaint about the way the vacuum works. It is as fantastic as I remembered, but.... there is a BIG ''BUT'': the extension tubes are connected together, to the nozzle and the motor driven powerhead (used for rugs and carpets deep cleaning), and there is a little metal dot to make the connection safer. There would be no problem with the metal dot if ELECTROLUX had not GOOFED totally with it.

You see, it is TOTALLY IMPOSSIBLEto disengage the dot from it's lodgement on the item you connect without:

  • breaking your nails (lucky if it's not your finger!) - spending half an hour trying what to do, - finally using something to push the metal dot out the ho le AND pushing the item connected to it AT THE SAME TIME.

Of course, I rang Electrolux HELP DESK.... and there answer was even STRANGERthan the whole thing: the lady there said that to disengage the connection you have to (brace youself in your seat... as this is the weirder advice I have received from a help department SO FAR) PUSH THE DOT WITH A RUBBER, THE TYPE OF RUBBER YOU FIND AT THE END OF A PENCIL!

Of course, ladies and gentlemen... we all know that we vacuum our house WITH A PENCIL HOLDING A RUBBER AT ITS END ALL THE TIME, LOL.....

I am sorry, but this ''little disagreement''as the help desk called it makes vacuuming an absolute nightmare and I am wondering if I will not change my ELECTROLUX WONDER against another more sensible machine, like the MIELE or the SEBO canister... also rated at the above site, unless ELECTROLUX comes to their senses, recalls all the present modelsand go back to their usual connection.

I must say that my son owns an Oxygen in France and.... the tubes connect ''the old fashion way''. So, for now, I will not recommend this product to customers that are not masochists.
