This is a copy of the text I submitted to Electrolux Customer services: I am the owner of an Electrolux fridge, model ER190L, PNC no: 925040052, Serial no: 62650100. This is a replacement(which was granted on 4th Jan 2007), because the original fridge I purchased on 11th Oct 2006, Serial no: 63150219 was totally defective.
The main reason for my complaint is to request a monetary REFUND. The following is a brief summary of events:
12.10.06: The rubber sealant on the door started to come apart. Called Penguin Service Burdwan, who could not provide a new door until early November.
11.12.06: Fridge completely stops operating. Called dealer(Roy Electronics, Natunganj, Burdwan) to complain & demand replacement.
4.01.07: Replacement frdge serial no: 62650100 provided, but on the rear the serial number had been pasted on top of an old label which could be seen - the label underneath shows a serial number of 12000163.
17.04.07: Fridge 62650100 completely stops functioning. Called Penguin, they collected fridge on 19.4.07 and advised that it would be delivered by 24.4.07. Had to visit them twice in person, before fridge finally delivered on 30.4.07. Penguin gave excuse for delay to say that they had to wait for a new compressor to be fitted, but the fridge was delivered with the old compressor MFSAXTH201 AA00 64G0361 A010844A.
Please read all the above carefully. Any reasonable person must admit this is a diabolical state of affairs which stretches to TWO Electrolux fridges. The label on the rear of the fridge states it was manufactured at Kitchen Appliances, Sector V, Block BP Salt Lake, Kolkata.
I have also written letters of complaint to Electrolux Kolkata & Mehrauli. Although the fridge is functioning OK at the moment, I have lost all faith in it.
