Electrolux ACs won't last more than a year!
We bought an Electrolux split AC from Vijay Sales last year and due to shifting to our new
house we got it uninstalled and had to reinstall this summer.
I placed a call at their toll-free customer care number and "technicians" visited us the next
day. While the 'installation charge' was mentioned as Rs. 1500, the technician re-estimated it at around Rs. 5000 (due to the requirement of copper pipes, as he said the
earlier pipe was unusable). I gave him a go-ahead and the work remained unfinished on
day 1 where they nearly spent 4 hours - by the time I understood that they were noobs and
hardly knew how to install a split AC.
Next day after spending another 2 hours the installation was complete and they said that
there is no cooling gas in the AC and it needs a refill. I could only say a YES because I
wanted my AC working after all these hours of installation , and anyway they were
'AUTHORISED TECHNICIANS FROM ELECTROLUX'.
After finishing the work they said that they cleaned the AC during installation which comes
under servicing, for which I will be charged another Rs. 650. When I disagreed, they
settled with charging Rs. 500 for it without bill.
Anyways the total installation bill came as:
Installation Charge: Rs. 1500
Copper pipe 19 feet: Rs. 4750
Cable 10 feet: Rs. 250
Cooling Gas: Rs. 2000
Capacitor change: Rs. 1350
Servicing charge: Rs. 500
TOTAL: Rs. 10350
Guess what! the second day my one-year old AC stopped working... haha... I could only
think ELECTROLUX REALLY??
I called customer care again and again since then, but I could only get one reply from all
the executives - YOUR CASE IS CLOSED. YOU WILL HAVE TO LOGIN A NEW
COMPLAINT FOR THIS WHICH WILL BE CHARGEABLE AS YOUR AC IS OUT OF
SERVICE WARRANTY.
