Well as we already using potable 3kwh water heater thats almost 2 in my house but problem is that switching both at a time trip my mcb as my house power supply cant afford such huge load and me also as my mom and others uses almost 2 to 3 hour these heater in winter everyday costing me

wait a minute I calculate as I never calculate it in past

3kwh *3hour=9 unit * lets suppose 10 unit max costing *5 rs /unit=50 rs /day humm

means 50 *30=1500rs every month max

winter month=oct, nov, dec, jan, feb max 5 month

so max expense on water heating may be 1500*5=7500 rs

humm means may be we are spending 7500 rs /year on water heating

humm quite large amount we cant notice

second problem is this all this potable heater show current leakage when checked by tester one is repaired although they are not branded one so we cant sure that may be well shock proof all time life long

as they have no blast problem as they are instant open tap one but shock fears me and second thing my house is although said to be in jaipur posh colony build by rajasthan housing board but its true housing board electrical work in every house is so bad and horrible that u will be gonna mad

so we cant ignore the risk of shock .

and my mother is diabetic and often forget such on/off thing for heater that I also fear

seeing all this thing .iam planning to buy new heaters for home off-course water heater one

but shock and blast problem may arise in electric one .but I tried to look out brands for convetional one as I have no knowledge of solar one .

I saw bajaj, crompton and others buts as 15 litre cost nears 5 to 6 k and two cost me 12k but still load problem arise if I buy that one as both makes 4-6 kwh load that may trip my house mcb .

on one day a local fair was arranged in jaipur where I just roam out for seeing fair and also seen many convetional one as its time of nov and winter season is for water heaters brand .

on one stall electrotherm showing its new electra range of solar water heater I just inquire roughly about it at that time .lol another solar water heater brand also shown there in opposite install I dont know may be solarmaxx was that one I also inquire there but I just found price slight high compare to electra and electra sales person also understand while gaving me information about heater that this person may be purchaser and I inquire about price and soon he was try to fix deal by convincing me about product at that time its price is 14k for 100 lpd+ transportation extra well I leave and after some thinking comes next day and gave it token amount and gave address .but it takes more than 5 to 10 days from promised delivery time and 5 more days for installation

after franchise just assembe the whole kit on terrace of house we need to connect it to main inlets and putting head tank etc .seeing all that mess I once irritated what mess I purchased but what to do then we need to install it .as this solar heaters require separate insulated piping so first I bought that one although nearby hardware and pipe store dont know about that pipes I bought it from market cost ing me approx 15rs /ft 1/2 inch and fittings extra and many piping material and one tank etc cost me all tank and plumbing material not less than 6k and u may laugh local plumber want rs 6000 as plumbing labour although I manage to find one to do this for rs 1000 but tell u its just 700 rs work at most as plumbing labor as plumber comes 350rs /day labor rate and this insulated pipes are so light and easy to install than normal galvanised one that even we itself could do plumbing but as in my case plumbing requires on two storey building so dont take risk to diy plumbing its better to shell few hundreds more than breaking own bones .

ok finally its whole installed in one day and next day in chilled winter we test the heater in morning but as it was installed till evening so water was just lukewarm we check out after 12 afternoon and than water comes good enough for bath in chilled winter

outside temp may be at that time 15 degree and heated water temp around body temp

as its 100 lpd I connect out all by three bathrooms, wasbasin and kitchen to heater and after few day we see our maid enjoying washing utensil in around 10am everyday with hot water even sometime water goes hot so need cold water in mixer and some time if we leave the usage in bright day of winter water may be as hot as it burn ur hand .well till now we are using solar option

this electra also have electric autocut backup option when solar was not enough salesperson says its using 2kwh heating element that autostop after heating 100 litres at company set temperature but I never tried it as till now I dont connect it to socket lol.but as its almost 9 month to check it I need to check its electricty backup so to check its working or not as at present its under warranty .

ok I talk too much. lets comes to topic

now how much it cost to mes roughly I could check as I forget the billed anount of plumping material that itself cost me as I say not less than 6k

so check the wallet

electra 100 lpd solar water heater= rs 14000

plumping material not less than= rs 6000(its nearly 4 to 5 point connection as housing board already provide the input point for combine outlets of water in evry bathroom and kitchen and pipe is near 125 to max 150 ft piping done)

plumbing labor= rs 1000

extra expense(dont forget my labor of roaming for purchasing geyser and plumbing material and other little expense of some clip etc and water proofing compound, tapes etc)= rs 500

total cost near 22000 apx its least one as I forget may be actual expenditure is few more grands(thousands)

well thats its huge expense but we may think what would be price of 100 lite storage heater conventional one may be same

although according to its area govt gave me rs 4500 as subsidy that still pending as u may know govt work is quite lenghty and lazy task and after few call and submitting some pics of electra with me as its manadatory thing to dealer .dealer office reply that all ur formalities is completed and soon a govt person comes to inspect the installation than u will get ur subsidy amount .

along with this govt gave near 25 to 50 paisa /unit meagre relief in our electricty bill if we install solar water heater till its installed on our house .

now lets see its return

earlier we already caculate that appx 7500 rs we spend on water heating every year

so in max 4 year electra may be return its initial investment

as its also gave super heated water in summer but we are not Einstein to use that energy in summer may be in future some technology may use that heated water for cooling like climatewell technology I see in google that also available commercialy in india .dont think too much just google if u wanna new technology but its intial investment is also high like solar water heater

well iam till now quite satisfied with it, but I see few neg thing to electra

1) lack of protective mesh over expensive evacuated glass tubes

2) electra body doesn seem quite so
