This is one scary idea. the girl goes to her gynec (one of the professional hazards of being human and female) and by mistake, is impregnated by an unknown man's sperm!!!!! I tell you, it took a whole two weeks of mindboggling mahabharat on my internal landscape before I could pluck my courage to pick up my phone and make that appointment for that yearly checkup. oh ye clement gods, have mercy on my slipping sanity! I think this is a better quality of product than i've seen so far as hindi serials are concerned. but I HAD to stop watching it. it was too strange. and this happening to a set of single women living by themselves. it was too much. when I switch the box on, I want non-reality. I want something I can never, ever, in a million years, relate to. this is too recognizable, down to the wife who doesnt want kids, and the husband who's so desparate, he can taste it. these characters are very believable! I also resent the stereotypes this serial feeds: that women in the indian milieu are still mainly valued for their fertility. alterntively, it seems to convey that female fertility is a cosmic threat to the woman herself, and can rock her world in ways she doesnt want rocked. it suggests very strongly that fertility is a force to be controlled and feared. I like my rose tinted glasses too much. so I guess you could say that the fault of this serial lies in my perspective, not in its demerits. but if you dare say such a thing, I shall curse you with a visit to the gynec!!!!
