Never judge a book by its cover. The statement fits Ek Khiladi Ek Khiladi to the T.Expecting some good thrills and chills ,I went to watch this movie on very first show. But ended up suffering from headche and yet to recover from that!

PNC returns with yet another film after disasters like Shabd and Popcorn Khao Mast Ho Jao Hain Hum which were all weird films with illogical plot..

Directed and supposedly written by a highly inexperienced, amateurish, and confused storyteller Supran Verma, “Ek Khiladi Ek Hasina” tries too hard to be an adventurous thriller but fails miserably leaving the audience cold and numb!

Plot

The film begins with sizzling item number[dhuan] on Koena Mitra that proves an icing on the cake.Suddenly ,the film moves into the flashback zone for the reason best known to the director !

Fardeen Khan is a con artist who has a dream to make it big in the crime world. His friend [Rohit Roy] thinks in a different way.He is quite happy with the simple life that he is living....

Actual drama takes place when they decide to con a bank Manager and successfully do that!

Twist in the tale comes here! The money actually belongs to Don Gulshan Grover who is in search of the two...Unfortunately ,Rohit Roy is killed by Gulshan whereas Fardeen Manages to escape ..

But world is too small a place to hide! Fardeen is captured by Gangster and is asked to refund the con amount within 10 days!

Then begins the [mis]adventure .Fardeen meets various types of the people from Doctor[ Koena ]to cop [Sharad Kapoor] to Millionaire [Feroz Khan] during the process...

Spoilers

Finally after lots of senseless and baseless situations, suspense is flashed that Koena was the sister of Rohit Roy...She and Fardeen were on a mission to eliminate the Don [Gulshan] and to con 25 crore from another Don[Feroz Khan] within 25 days! The torture ends!

A poor copy of the Hollywood flick Ocean Elevn,Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena starts off quite well. The sequence in the bank and the light moments between Rohit Roy and Fardeen Khan do bring a smile on your face. Even the turning point when Rohit Roy is eliminated by Gulshan Grover is well executed. But the graph of film goes downhill after that!

The sequence that follows reminds you of several Bollywood films like KARAM,D and many more! The loopholes in the screenplay pile up one after the other which nearly undoes the whole movie.

The second half which should've been the turning point of the movie is a mess. The much expected ''twist'' in the pre-climax comes across unconvincing and lacks the much needed punch. One feels Verma had taken the viewer for granted and lost interest in what he was making..However few sequences do strike a chord like

When Fardeen comes to know about the true idenity of K.K

The interaction between five group members and bank manager regarding the loan..

The exchange of money bag from the airport custody..

But that is not enough to compensate poor second half!

Another drawback is climax! It reminds you of recent flop CHOCOLATE with similar twist in the tale with no impact whatsoever.....Morever millionaire Feroz Khan looks like a buffon from every angle. You wonder if this man is that powerful in first place.A pertinent question that flashes in your mind as the story unfolds is, Why on this earth Koena and Fardeen need help from Gulshan to con 25 crores from Feroz Khan? One fails to understand what actually prompts Feroz to forgive Fardeen considering that he[Fardeen] is still alive?

The characterizations too seem flawed, as most of the roles do not suit the actors playing them. Moreover, there are too many characters, leading to chaos and confusion .Koena Mitra looks anything but pshyciatrist!

Fardeen Khan tries his best to add life into a relatively lifeless role. He appears to be going through the motions and lacks the much needed energy and vibrancy that is needed. No doubt his dancing is top notch and his delivery and timing has improved, but on the whole this is an average performance from Fardeen Khan .

Koena Mitra gives a confident performance and impresses. The gorgeous actress is eye-candy and is full of talent. Her delivery is great and she exudes charm throughout. She exudes sexual confidence as well and does well in the imtimate scenes which don't come across as sleazy.

Feroz Khan hams to the hilt and reminds one of his performance in fiasco called Jaansheen.K.K is hilarious with his dialouge delivery especially 'Hey LO!'

Gulshan Grover is wooden...Others are passable!

The music in the film is excellent and elevates the film to a certain degree. . The tracks have been well picturised as well.'' Jal Jal Ke'' is packed with sizzle which will please the male viewers as Koena entices the viewers with her figure. Ishq Musafir and Aankhiyan Naa Mar deserve a special mention.....!

Camerawork is one of the most stylish pieces of work I have seen from Bollywood of late. Some may call it Hollywood inspired-I don't necessary see that as a bad thing.

All up EKEH is disappointment for those wanting a hardcore thriller. Stay far away!
