Ramgopal Varma and Kay Sera Sera productions EK HASINA THI is yet another the so-called '' Hutt Ke'' movie. Ramu is famous for his movies with offbeat topic and tittle...but this one may dissapoint some ramu fans...For Eg. Myself. Ramu has been experimenting with movies one time too many. '' Bhoot'' may have earned Urmila Star Screen Award but sorry Ek...Thi has nothing like Bhoot in it. '' Darna Mana Hai'' too dissapointed me with the pathetic story line and the even more pathetic end.

Hasina - Played by Urmila is though a pleasure to watch on screen but the character she plays isn't. She is single lady, worker in a travel agency and lives alone in a rented house in Delhi. By the way she is called Srika in the movie.
Deewana - Played by cute Saif Ali Khan is as he sez a small buisness man or something like that and has to do something with share market and all ( I don't know what he said exactly coz I was fast asleep by the time the movie took pace) His character is of a guy who cannot be trusted. And has connections with crime world and all.

The Hasina falls in a trap set up by Deewana and she is so dumb that she ends up with seven year in prison. There a professional criminal bullies her. The cell makes her strong and full of hatered for Deewana. She breaks out with the help of a don (a woman don by the way).
There she is following Deewana in hotels, restaurents, showrooms and gangster houses. She sets him up in a muder case and now the gangsters and police are on his persue. By this time the audiences are pretty confused about what is happening on the screen.
With all Hasina Deewana don police (chor police) and what not going on some how the things are clear for all the charcters.

The movie has one song that too not worth mentioning. The background score on the other hand is very impressive. The dresses the characters wear are not what they should be wearing. The deewana is too cute to be in a negitive role. The Hasina gives the same Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya performance.... Not even close to what she gave to the audience in Bhoot.

In the end the audience cannot digest this flick that has nothing in it. The end of the movie is what everyone expects to be and this makes the movie even more pathetic. Overall Ek Hasina Thi is not worth a single star. Don't waste money on this Hasina Deewana story catch a Doctor or New York (KHNH) movie once again instead.
