Calculation mistake by Subash Ghai & David Dha. Review on Ek Aur Ek Gyarah

Mukta Arts “Ek aur Ek Gyaraah” Directed by David Dhawan and produced by Subash Ghai is a total let down in the name of laughter.

The Cast

Govinda has done a decent job although he looks old, he still has that perfect timing when he does comic roles

Sanjay Dutt looks pale and older and seems that he is forced to do such roles, He is better on those gangster roles.

Amrita & new comer Nandhini is there for routine song & dance numbers

Gulshan Grover and Ashish Vidyarthi has been shown as mere jokers with very little to do although they are projected as International Criminals

Jackie has done similar roles a number of times before has nothing to do much in this film.

Himani shivapuri & Mahesh Anand has been totally wasted.

Rajpal Yadhav is at his best as usual.

The Crew

The weakest part being the Screenplay has made the movie a real mess, The funny Punjabi ascent and presentation by govinda hold the viewers attention at some places.

Cinematography and Background score are just AVERAGE.

The Dialogues are well penned and are written exclusively for the masses

The Music by Shankar-Eeshan-Loy is average with “Thoda sa” and “O Dushmana” standing out. All other songs are mediocre. The title track appears here and there without any reason

Editing is very loose with a number of songs coming without valid situation.

The Director

David Dhawan has a good track record of several comedy films in his credit, Subhash Ghai who is the creator of some evergreen movies but this deadly combo has turned disastrous by making this film. Although we cannot expect a “Gol Maal” or “Hera Pheri from David, this one is a total letdown from the director. The Story and Screenplay which has to be perfect while doing a comedy stuff has gone wrong with predictable scenes and occasions all over, only saving grace being the dialogue delivery by Govinda. The Climax of the film is slapstick all the way with a Tank & bad guys is intolerable.

Overall

“Ek aur Ek Gyaraah” is a typical David Dhawan flick which does not require any brains or logic to watch. The Film doesn’t have any great funny moment that will stay in viewers mind for long. The villains who had projected as international criminals acts like circus clowns. How long we still have to see those Police officers and Military officers who behave like fools & idiots. Stay away from it unless you are a DIE HARD GOVINDA FAN.

As the title says Subash Ghai and David Dhavan had committed a mistake in doing simple calculation “Ek aur Ek Gyaraah” instead of Ek aur Ek Do”
