I had been awaiting the release of this film as I had heard about all the little trivia about the Movie, the cast, the crew and that it is shot in bangkok in a Single Schedule of 35 days . It was more interesting for me because it had two Big Stars I always look forward to see Amitabh Bachhan and Arjun Rampal. So, my entire expectation on the film was centered around the two leading men and of course to some extent on the stylish director - Apoorva Lakhia.
Amithabh Bachhan - Honestly, Dissapointing to see that Apoorva Lakhia could not do anything great with this man's abilities. Big B has just gone with the motions (In his great style of course)....but then I feel he needs to break out of the repetitiveness of his looks and loud acting and do more subtle Roles which show his personality better. the only place where he looks the kind of image I am talking about is the picture on your left of the screen, THE PROMO STILLS . I did not see that image in the movie which I was looking forward to. The Initial part of the movie where Mr. Bachhan is fighting his past and getting to adjust to his new life was better than his ''Revenge PArt'' till the climax of the movie. The Worst part was the End scene which comes after the ''15 years Later'' subtitle where the surprise Guest stars Lara and Abhishek come in. Mr. Bachhan refuses to look even a day older ....remember he is a big time drunkard in the first half of the movie. The message - ''DRINK HARD AND STAY YOUNG'' ....
in short Big B has not worked on his looks which takes away all marks from his acting ...
aRJUN RAMPAL - He is the man to watch . Although he gets a role which has little to do. Firstly, If you work on a charater you should look like it .....Arjun does exactly that ...(if somebody's seen the movie and disagrees write to me) . Looks - 10 / 10 .
The Tattoos , the Wrist Bands, the Dressing, the walk .....you havent seen this guy in the industry before ....this is still the same Arjun. But for 2 1/2 hours he is shekhar and he means business. Now, why would you rate an actor on anything else if he looks his part and he is flawless in the job given to him.
Rampal is the man to watch in Bollywood .
Apart from the above , the movie can be summarised as yet another poor remake of a Good Hollywood movie which nonetheless entertained me and will entertain you as we have become used to 2nd rate fare. We have to accept everything that Big B does as good acting and good blah blah ..... because we dont want change and thats what we get .....
General Feature of the movie : Good Music, Decent Supporting Cast, Great Camera Work , Good Editing, Nice Locations, Good Costume Designing, Little Girl Rucha has done her part well .
