I happened to read the advice by 'pete' and I am quite impressed by it! I would like to add on a few points , sore throat alongwith, painful or swollen joints , fever, or rashes can be dangerous, as in some cases, if infected by a specific kind of bacterium , it can lead to Rheumatic heart Disease , which will affect the normal functioning of the heart valves and other other parts of the heart.
Not all sore throats should be taken lightly ! Another advice for sore throat is to avoid smoking , if a smoker, stop drinking cold water and and cold drinks, avoid fruits like banana, water melon and mash- melon, and yoghurt.Drink plenty of fluids like fruit juices and water (room temperature), as it is usually associated with constipation and increased fluid loss from the body and less intake due to throat pain.
If you dont get any relief from soluble aspirin gargles or salt water gargling and other home remedies in one day, please check it out with your family doctor.
