ARE YOU SITTING RIGHT?

I have been working hard for weeks and now I am having back pain problems. Thanks to my work desk.

A computer is a valuable device where we spend hours for working or entertainment; it is therefore essential to correctly set proper position for the computer. Many of us just assemble and use the computer, without thinking about ill effects on health. Most of people frequently using computers suffer from back pain and eyestrain.

I am one of them, Continuous heavy use of computer takes heavy toll on us, which we may not understand at the present moment, but repent later. This is especially for BPO employees, software firm employees, Desk job workers, etc. So change your lifestyle now if you have problems like me.

For a good ergonomic setting, it is important to make the settings when setting up the computer itself. The following points must be considered:

  1. While buying a computer, also spend some money in a computer table. The height of monitor and table should be changeable according to height of every member. Also buy an adjustable chair, don’t use any chair.

  2. Sit in a position that your eyes should be at 15 degrees angle to the center of the screen.  Position your monitor to avoid reflections, but avoid facing a bright window yourself as it may cause eyestrain.

  3. Your computer table should be at a comfortable height for typing so that the lower parts of your arms are parallel to the floor.

  4. Feet should rest flat on the floor.

  5. If your feet don’t rest comfortably on the ground, try a footrest.

  6. Leave enough space in front of keyboard for hands and wrists to type easily.

If you work on work for long periods of time, then stand up, stretch and move around frequently. Also close your eyes for few seconds every few hours.

Remember, Health is Wealth.
