Eeram

After a long time watched a good movie today. Eeram.Can a bad mouth about a human will lead to suicide? It can says Eeram. I firmly believe atleast Director Shankar's production movies are close to reality and watchable. I wasn't disappointed. Debutant Arivazhagan makes this movie really work with tout story and screenplay in this gripping supernatural thriller. Can you make a thriller movie at tad slow pace with milestone of 2 hrs and 45 mins ?. Yes it can be and its quite engaging.

I don't want to reveal the story, though here comes the brief plot.

Movie opens with suicide of the heroine (Sindhu Menon) and the investigation follow up with past and present cross tracks. The investigation police Officer Aadhi, protagonist finds out the truth. Aadhi and Sindhu were ex-lovers, but difference of opinion makes them to take different directions as Sindhu gets married to Nandha and Aadhi becomes ACP, which all these are told in the flash back. Initially it may look suicide but Aadhi's sentimental and police instinct tells the other way. As the movie goes Aadhi finds why ? what ? who and etc. for the Sindu's death with different characters coming around in this tale of twists and turns.

Almost in all scenes Eeram (Rain, Water, H2O though all are same) is set as backdrop which is quite cool and pleasant. Technically this movie is a sheer brilliance. Manoj Paramahansa, Cinematographer is a great find. His camera angles, shots, lighting and etc are magic. Thaman's songs and bgm works like wonder for movie. All the technicians have ably supported the director and many congrats fellas.

Really a good work for a debutant director, Arivazhagan. Though the killings in some scenes were inspired from 'Final Destination' the picturisation, H2O backdrop are innovative. Bad mouthing, Is that inspired from 'Old Boy' ?!.Some of the Dialogues were actually sharp razor edge. It cuts. Only negative review I comment is that movie has serial effect slightly.

There are many good scenes in the movie, though I very much liked were, At climax Sindhu comes as young girl kisses Aadhi and says thanks. Poetic indeed. Second the final scene Police taking Nandha in a jeep, an bolt below the jeep gets loosen because of Rain and ending the movie leaving the audience to unnderstand what will happen next. Man ! Atta boy Arivu.

Cast. hmmm. Aadhi is the T for ACP role. Though his acting might look wooden, he is good. Sindu's come back is also good, as a common movie goer I would be happier if current heroines take content roles instead of craps. Nandha with Negative shades has done pretty decent job. Support cast are ample and appreciable. When Srinath is aggravated of his fear and his daughter plays prank with devil mask theatre goes wild.

Finally, the movie is good supernatural thriller and watchable and it will come out as a dark horse at box office.
