ACE is an Association of Concerned Educators and has an interesting monthly magaine for Education . There is no membership fee and it takes up issues of interest to parents, teachers, students, and institutions. The Consulting Editor is Dr N.H.Atthreya who is on the Advisory Council of the TVS Group of Schools in Madurai, is the Editor of Management Ideas , a monthly for professional managers and is the Founder of the Continuing Education Centre, MMC School of Management.
The Editor is Bharat Vyas and the Publishers are Lalit Media and Education Ltd.
ACE is a colourful magazine printed on glossy paper and is 7 issues old. Started by Uncle Anant Pai, of Tinkle, Amar Chitra Katha and Partha, it has more than forty pages of education related articles, humourous pieces by well known writers like V Gangadhar, stories, jokes and information. Interviews of eminent people like Grace Pinto, Director of Ryan and St Xavier's groups of schools, surveys, counselling pages are included.
I first came across it in december when it was already four issues old and I liked it very much. I liked the contents, and the well written pieces. The stress now is on extra curricular activities which are called co curricular activities and that they should form part of the school curriculum. Talented and interested children can gain a lot from these activities and the magazine contains information on all types of exta curricular acivites.
