I used the serrvices of ecabs twice during this month. I had written to ecabs support team about my experiences, I have not received any response from them despite reminders. Here is what I had written to them:
This is in reference to your service. I travelled to Mumbai airport from Pune on 17th morning and back on 19th morning. I had horrible experiences during my return journey.
My troubles started with the internet booking for the return journey. The booking was not acknowledged. I had to make an international call to make a fresh booking. So much for putting up a website and aceepting bookings from there!
I was told that the vehicle and driver details would be SMSed to me by 10:00 pm India time, which was never sent.
At the airport there was a person (supposedely from ecabs, called Khan) who looked no better than earlier day agents who used to roam around in the airport and fleece passengers.
I told him that we need to go via Thane to drop a friend. Suddenly he quoted a figure of Rs. 700! This is sheer LOOTING, since going via Thane does not add to the distance! I had seen on your website a figure of Rs. 1, 900 to go to places upto Dahisar (in case of Pune pickup). This one should have been similar and I was ready to pay this amount.
Then I called one of your number and person who came online told that an additional Rs. 200 has to be paid. After talking to your agent in the car, he changed the amount to Rs. 400.
All along the agent was acting like a thug, demanding money. Even the person on the phone told me to pay Rs. 1000 at the start of the journey. None of your conditions (on your website) mention this. I did not pay this when I travelled from Pune to airport 2 days back.
The agent also made the driver to circle the area arounf international airport, hotel Hyatt, Andheri-Kurla road and was telling the driver to go back to hotel Hyatt. I had to scold him to get out of the car and let us go to Pune.
The driver later told me that he was a driver belonging to a different travel company who had come to the airport to drop a passenger and was resting at the parking lot. He was persuaded by your agent to pick me up and drop to Pune. He did not know anything about ecabs!
I have some questions:
When I booked a cab from ecabs, why was a cab affiliated to ecabs not sent?
Why was I charged arbitrarily, your people quoted 700, 200 and finally extorted 400 extra from me? This is more then the fair amount for the journey.
Why was I not sent the vehicle and driver details by SMS as promised?
You website mentions credit card as an option for making payment. When I enquired about it, I was told that I will have to pay 6% extra! What kind of service is this?
I have realized that yours is not a professional organization, within 2 trips. You are also one of those many fraud operators who make quick bucks by cheating passengers.
Let me know if you people take passenger complaints seriously and rectify or continue with your own ways? Also let me know if you bother to refund the extra money charged.________________________________________________________________________
