I wanted to take my wife to some rooftop restaraunt for our First year anniversary.I always wanted to go to Ebony or as it is commonly known as 13th Floor Restaurant.
I had heard some good feedback regarding its rooftop view( Ofcourse since it is on 13th Floor :-) )You have to Reserve the table 1 day ahead if you want to be seated outside on one of the 3 wings it has. We got a table which was on the MG road side.
As expected the view was magnificent, Utility building to the left and manipal centre to the right and we could see Bangalore city line filled with smoke !!It was a clear evening and we could feel heavy breeze now and then.They showed us to our table promptly and poiltely.
The inside tables are decorated beautifuly witgh candles and Flowers.But the outside tables were little bit plain.They shouldve put some table cloth and a vase atleast.So if u want a romantic candle light diner better take inside seats.Teh cuisine served is Europian, South Asian and Indian.
The pricing on the menu was decent enough for the Restaraunt of that stature.Soups start from 95 and goes upto 195.We tried the french soup and it was excellent.The Starter are on higher side starting from 115 to 250 for a platter.
1 Platter will be enough for 3 people !!.We tried babycorn kurkure and I did not like it so much.Next we decided to skip rotis as we were tired of wating Roti , sabji's.But for review sake I will let you know of the pricing, they had around 10 variety of sabji for vegetarians and around 200 for Non-Veg(Including Lamb).
Veg sabjis started from 150 to 250 Rs.Non Veg items were uptill 350 Rs.Rotis anda paranthas were priced between 40 Rs to 80 Rs.Try the Aloo Parantha.It is good.Then there was also Dhal items like dhal tadka and etc..We orderd a kind of Veg biryani called Sabji ki Tehri.
It was Exteremly good and I was very happy to have ordered it !!.They dont ahve much choices in rice items.Biryani and pulao. Otheres are Non Veg Rice items with Lamb , chicken and I think mutton(Not sure).The pricing was decent enought with Sabji ki tehri priced at 160 Rs.
Rest were upwards from 200 Rs till 400 Rs.They also have Varieties of Pasta and Few Tahi items like rice noodles etc.All priced int eh range 225 Rs to 400 Rs.I dont know how they taste since we were stomach full and couldnt gulp down andy more food.
So we ordered Mango Mousse for dessert and it was good!!. Teh price range for the desserts were from 160 Rs to 250 RsI dont drink so I did not concentrate on the Drinks Menu.But I did look at the menu and I think it was filled with variety..with few named as shangrila, Kamikaazee etc ranging from 250 Rs to 400 Rs. :-).They also have Cigars or Cigarettes on demand.Service Wise , we had a good experience. They Bring the menu items slowly which I feel is good since you get time to talk and enjoy the city view.
If youare in a hurry better tell them to bribng the items quickly :-).So overall I found it to be a good restaraunt if you want to give a surprise gift to you loved ones as you will fell like you are on Top of everything !!One more thing, If you are with small kids please be careful as there is no barriers or Mesh and it is 13 floor jump to MG Road :-)I Hope this review was usefull.I have quoted approximate price for the above items as I could not remembr the exact price.Dinner for 2 Will cost you atleast 1200 Rs.
