I am writing this review after more than a year of struggling to get a substandard center table that apparently has a 5 year warranty on it replaced from the ebony gautier bangalore store, so this is not in the heat of the moment. We bought a couch a center table(worth about 13K) and rug all for about 80k in March 2010.
Now, if you have to move a table, especially one that does not have four legs but two planks on two sides as legs? Well, me and my husband held it from the top and picked it up and lo and behold the top gave way with the heavy bottom falling on my husband's foot breaking his big toenail leading to a lot of blood loss that was extremely scary.
We called ebony gautier and they said they will send someone over to look. After quite a few reminder calls, a bunch of folks who believe had come somewhere close to deliver furniture to some unfortunate soul looked and called back the store to say that the top had broken off as it was held merely by screws to the heavy bottom. The store folks promised to have it repaired if not replaced. No one has since set foot here to rectify the situations since. My husband and I have repeatedly called, requested, shouted, tried everything to have the stupidly expensive and crappy table at least repaired, but after the initial facade of sending someone, the rude and folks at ebony gautier began saying that the table must have been damaged because of incorrect handling. I would like them to come and show how else they would move the table.
For something that has a 5 year warranty, and obviously is overpriced for it, this excuse seems very convenient. So, if you associate price and warranties with quality, there is always a bunch of crooks looking to pull a fast one over your eyes. I would strongly recommend against ever having to do anything with ebony gautier bangalore. BEWARE OF THESE FRAUDS
