Dear Avnish,


Let me first congratulate MS for bringing the CEO of Baazee, to listen to the consumer.


But unfortunately Baazee, without accepting the mistake, is now threatening to ban customers from open forums such as Mouthshut. You know whom I am talking about. I hope after reading my review, you don’t tell Faisal to Ban me from MS.


As a consumer, my only concern is what has the website has to offer, I don’t care what the CEO is doing with money he got from the VCs. For me, nor the founder is important nor his personal life.


Who ever has written a review on MS on Baazee have given there personal experience and such forums should be taken as a voice of the consumer and the companies should learn from it. I read your review and was impressed by the way you are doing PR but that stops there. Just doing PR job, you cant run a portal, give consumers what they want and not Ball talks.


I don’t want to speak on air and just give reviews on air. Let me show you how badly is your website managed.


Design and Loading


Remember one thing, people don’t like regular change in a website for no reason or accounts, Baazee has been changing its look every now and then and this creates lots of doubts on the consumers mind. Baazee takes approximately around 2mins to load on a normal Dial up connection which is absolutely bad for an auction website. Secondly as Kishore pointed out, one of my friend in US wanted to put a Management book on auction, he tried logging on to Baazee and failed at least 4 times and finally put his book on Ebay and Bidorbuy.com. This means Baazee has lost a customer, hence loading of a website is very important.


Fake Accounts & Auctions


This is a problem encountered by me; I had auctioned my row house plot in Panvel, and in Baazee only 1 person bid on the plot who was from Orissa. I wrote an email to this person and he never responded, now what do you call this. This had created a doubt in my mind is that, the person was fake, and I feel that it was probably one of your employee, may be he is not.


At Bidorbuy.com their was amazing 10 person bid on my plot and out of these 5 were estate agents who had tied up with Bidorbuy.com. Now this is one way of stopping the fake accounts. The agent called me up and I finalised the deal with him.


Now I don’t say that, at bidorbuy.com there are no fake accounts and bids, but at least the ratio of genuine to fake is very less.

When ever I look at your website, it reminds me of a Bachelor’s Bedroom where each and everything is scattered and there is no proper management. Navigating on your website is like a Arthur Conan Doyle’s Lost World where, you feel you are trapped in a glass maze, were there are so many doors, but you can never get what you want neither can you get out. The wrong categorisation of products and mis-managed auctions really take the cake.


Case 1.


Now, is 1994 edition of IIT Chemistry book an Antique?


41st edition(1994). Ok condition. JPNP Publishers.

Don’t you have a quality department because this is what I found on your website, which should have been deleted long time back.

There is a user who has put a test auction, which is again a sheer waste of time for a normal user who may try getting to the link, which again takes hell lot of time.


Now there are many such examples, which can be put, but now if I had to show you all this then what is your quality team doing. One of the member here said that, you need to give Baazee some time to grow but 11/2 year is a quite a long time for a website to improve on the basics.


India has never been an auction crazy nation. Despite this Baazee still decided to go ahead with the concept but started out on a wrong footing, kept repeating their mistakes and showed no inclination to learn. The website is a lesson on “ Mis-management of Business”. Today, its probably too late to change, as you guys are neck deep in your mis-managed muck. Hats of to you, if you can pull yourself out of this, but to make a beginning get your website in order and show some customer focus.
