EBay has the worst customer service experience compared to Flipkart & Amazon.I recently had to return an item purchased via eBay. First time I came face to face with their customer service and it was the worst in my entire life


If you call you have to wait for half an hour and then they suddenly put you on hold again for checking more details. If you open online chat it takes more than 90 minutes to connect( Seriously I am not joking here)


If you message them thru their website then they respond after 3 weeks. If you mail them they don't respond till you call them and tell them that you have mailed them


I had to return a dell venue 11 pro tablet( Rs 33000) because it was specified as 64gb FullHD but I received 32gb HD.First eBay said that blue dart will come and pick it up but nobody from blue dart contacted me


Then they asked me to ship on my own to sellers address and mail the details.


I did the same and to my total surprise eBay closed the claim because I didn't mail from my official mail I'd. What a lame lame excuse. I called them immediately but they have refused to reopen the claim


The seller first said that he will ship replacement immediately then he kept delaying and delaying and finally he is telling me that blue dart has lost the new tablet he tried to ship. It is more than 2 months now and I have lost my patience and I am planning to file police complaint with cyber crime section


The entire history of the complaint is given below for reference


Purchased a Dell venue 11 pro 64gb Full HD tablet(Item#321327573551) from ebay vendor slidecart(slidecartplus@gmail.com) on 19th sep 2014(paisaPayId#37409755475)


Received a tablet with wrong specifications(32GB HD instead of 64GB fullHD) on Sat 27th sep 2014. Immediately sent ebay message to seller slidecart


Raised a claimId#668460 on 30th Sep 2014. All the supporting documents(screenshots of specs) were attached in the claim itself


On 9th Oct 2014 ebay initiated return action to return the item to seller


Scheduled to be picked up on Fri, 10-October-2014 at 14:00 PM Via FEDEX(AWB: 771434182140).


nobody from Fedex contacted me


On 16th Oct 2014 ebay sent a fresh communication as follws


"As per our telephonic conversation on 13/10/2014, we request you to reship the item back to the seller and provide us with valid tracking details. We are requesting you to reship the item back to the seller and provide us the proof of Dispatch copies; you can send us scanned images of the Dispatch copy in jpg format at insellerverification@ebay.com within 5 Days. Failing to which claim may get close and refund request would be rejected. Kindly send the item back to the seller on below mentioned address: NAME: Kamlesh Kumari= Phone: 7206447355 ADDRESS:=H No 6B, Dharampura Colony, ( Near Gaba Palace) Yamuna Nagar, India 135001. The reimbursement would be sent via Coupon on your register email address and you can expect to receive it within 7-10 business days, which is valid for 1 month. Waiting for your earliest response."


On 15th Oct 2014 I sent the tablet to seller address as specified by ebay thru professional courier tracking no # PRO1696961. Confirmed with professional courier manager in Sholinganallur that It was delivered to seller on 17th Oct 2014.


On 16th Oct 2014, I sent following email to ebay(insellerverification@ebay.com), from my hotmail id()


“as discussed I am sending Dell Venue pro 11 tab tablet thru professional courier #PRO1696961 as advised by ebay representative because the Fedex did not contact me for reverse pick-up

please arrange to refund courier cost Rs420

On 20th Oct 2014, I forwarded the same mail again(to insellerverification@ebay.com) from my official ebay id()


On 20th Oct 2014, 10:56 am, ebay denied the claim with Remarks: “We have requested you via mail dated 17/10/2014 to reship the item back to the seller. you have failed to reship the item back to the seller and not responded to our mail with scan copy of courier receipt within the given timelines hence we have reached to the conclusion we are closing this claim from our end. We request you to get in touch with the seller to resolve this issue.”


On 21st Oct 2014, I called ebay customer care explained the whole history above and he acknowledged the mails but said that the first mail from hotmail id was ignored because it was not my official ebay mail id. I explained that ebay just asked me to mail the details, but never specified that I have to use only mail id registered on ebay. Also the subject of the mail clearly states the claim id. Then the customer care representative said that he cannot re-open the claim, so he will escalate it.


After this I have sent repeated messages to ebay, but they keep saying that claim is closed because I didnt provide sufficient information.


Seller slidecart claims that they shipped a replacement tablet via bluedart(tracking#60198873616) but bluedart has lost it. However bluedart is not able to provide any tracking for the same in their webpage.


On 28th Nov 2014, seller slidecart sent a message


“We are shipping a new unit by tomorrow.Will send Details of shipping by 5 pm.


The earlier shipment is still showing last updation in Delhi Rama Road Hub.“


On 29th Nov 2014 6:44 pm I replied asking them


“Can you confirm if you have shipped the new tablet today?”


as of now 30th Nov 2014 there is no response. The seller has blocked my phone no and his behaviour from the entire beginning has been highly untrustworthy.
