EBay is a real baby. Review on Ebay

Hi fellas,

Long time I was out of sync with mouthshut, anyway I am back and here is my eBays review.

First of all everything is not for every one. You have to try it and let it evolve and try it again, compare it with wine; older the wine is better.

eBay is a meeting place for Sellers and Buyers and so eBay is the online market place.

The Sellers.

You have a need to find a market of buyers for your stuff, eBay is your forte.

Like in a market place there are people who will display their wares and you get to choose what you want and at what price. The whole mechanics of a market operate here, its just online from the comfort of your office or home. So minus the smell, grime, the sound and all the foot work.

As in traditional markets The Sellers, come in all shapes, sizes, attitudes and intentions.

What do I mean?

By shape - I mean geographical location, the world is your market place. Your seller may be just a 18 year old one man, home based, trying to make extra bucks or an established, well staffed, well known business adding value to their business.

By size - I mean the feedback score. This decides the credibility and level of trust you can have over The Seller.

Believe me, its very difficult to get a high rating on eBay. So all high rated sellers have taken extra pains to become the stars.

By attitude - I mean, the temperament of The Seller. Its as diverse as the buyers, because eBay is an truly open market place and a level playing field for one and all. This brings me to the last aspect of The Seller.. intention.

By intention - I mean, The Sellers seriousness to sell. Believe me eBay is haunted with the ghost of cheaters and con artist who vanish with the buyers money literally into thin air.

But, eBay wants to protect you and conduct its business and there is this buyers protection program which protects the buyer upto Rs 10,000 against fraud. Feeling good! Ok the founder of eBay believed that most people are good and so eBay will do good. I tend to believe in such a belief and its my observation that good things happen on eBay.

Lets look at The Buyers.

In India, the computer penetration is way less than 10%, yet eBay India, by acquiring Baazee has a user base greater than the whole population of Australia.

Which means virtually eBay India is greater than Australia! And we are just talking about less than 10% computer usage. Just look at the potential, we are truly a giant market place.

If you have an itch to try something before you buy, ask questions, look around, check prices, compare products and their features, eBay is the place to be.

Let your fingers do the talking and you may bid or buy it now, you way watch an item sell or wait for a better opportunity, you can even ask question to sellers with no obligation to buy. The Buyer is king on eBay.

Ebay is not perfect, the first car or the first plane was not perfect too. But it really changed the way people travel. The product evolved and people who stayed and contributed made a lot of money in the process. eBay is that crude car that you are experiencing.

Believe me it will change for better, as there is a season for all good things to blossom and grow. So, eBay is for real and its still a baby.
