Baazee, India's Largest Market Place without Doubt. Review on Ebay

I am Rajesh from New Delhi and started selling on Baazee some 9 months back. The idea initially was to use Baazee like many other online selling and advertising site for promotion of our new product.

In first two months we were able to learn the basics. The sale was not important at that stage. Visibility of our products was important. We were successful in our aim. The kind of traffic our listings got thru baazee would have been impossible with our own website.

BUT then having learnt the basics we decided to explore the true potential of Baazee as a Market Place as they call it. Let me tell you with all my honesty, the sales growth was very good.

Today Baazee is 60% of my income, which I had never thought possible.

There was only one reason for not pushing further. That was the ''kids on the block''. Small time sellers were offering price which were close to impossible. But then it is a market place and you do get Fly by Night operators who would sell and run away when it is time to address the buyers' complaints.

To my and all Serious sellers' and buyers' comfort Baazee introduced very high Customer satisfaction Index for survival on the site. In any case the Rating system which is unique in itself allows the buyer to judge for him self the buyers past track record.

I wish to put this on record that the reason I am writing this review is a mail from a friend of mine who forwarded me a link to an article where Baazee.com, and Rediff were compared. A lot of stuff were mentioned which were not true. Like pricing & quality.

May I mention here that a lot of sellers from rediff and Indiatimes are selling their products on Baazee and there prices on Baazee are at least 50% lower then what is quoted and charged at Rediff and IndiaTimes.

The major advantage I see at Baazee is that you have product range and price competition. Same product is offered by many sellers at varying price. It is buyers judgment what to buy and from whom. Whereas at Rediff and Indiatimes one product can be offered by only one seller and since there is no competition, the prices are very high. Not a BUYER DRIVEN market.

You don't have to pay upfront any thing to Baazee to start selling. The service fee is very low this leads to lower pricing by the seller and the buyer does not end up paying more just because he decided to buy online.

The Team at Baazee is very innovative and progressive.

I have seen major developments and up gradations in last 9 months. Like any market place, there are problems with the Sellers and buyers but nothing alarming. I would say much lower then the problems in conventional market place (offline market or for that matter other online shopping sites like rediff or indiatimes). The complaints and reviews are open for scrutiny by other buyers also.

All in all a Big thumbs Up for Baazee.com.

I really hope that the once upon a time users/ members use the site now. And more importantly be ready for a long term association. You cannot open a shop and expect the sales to start overnight. Try The site NOW in 2004.
