Twice bitten, always shy!!!!!!!! - that's my mantra for Baazee.com.
I purchased two items on 2 occassions and on both the occassions I felt cheated. I have realised that the place is full of cheap type sellers who have found a new way of cheating unsuspecting buyers sitting hundreds of miles away.
Almost all the products listed on the site and cheap, fake imitations of the real things. So, you see a sony micro-drive and buy it. When you receive it, it turns out to be a cheap, non-working imitation of the real thing.
Apart from ''real'' products, there are also ''smarties'' who try to sell you some way of buying a laptop for Rs.5000 (I never tried it though) or even an ''e-book'' that is so easily available on the net (unfortunately I didn't try this one also).
The worst thing is that even though Baazee claims to have some buyer protection program, it never really works. Sitting in Chennai, you buy something in Delhi. The item is not working. You are in a fix because even though it has a return policy, you realise that it costs more than the price of the item (plus other hassles) to return it.
Baazee service would just assure you that ''if your problem is not solved then they would step in'' (I wonder if anyone goes that far for a thousand rupee item)
When Avnish Bajaj was caught by police, I really got some hope that Baazee would really improve and try and stop imitation goods or illegal materials from being sold on their site. I am not sure if they have improved. If anyone knows, please let me know.
