I just bought a new mobile from Baazee.com. Given that the mobile was priced at or close to MRP, I was the only bidder and won the auction. Delivery to the door step was very convenient. the guy even tested the phone before delivery. Even got a bill. All in all, I was happy with the experience.
However, I am still not convinced about the price benefit to me. This is because even if some of the mobiles were bidding at a lower than MRP prices, the end bid would be withing Rs. 200-500 of the MRP. For the mobile I liked, it was probably at MRP that is why there were no other bids.
If I had time, I would have gone to the market and negotiated.. just avoided that hassle for a higher price.
also, the search engine is bad. very bad. I found New Mobiles in Mumbai while going through several avenues. Just doing a simple search of ''new mobiles'' in mumbai would not find all the possible auctions of the above.
Summary, the consumer needs to be well aware of the market price to be successful on baazee.com. People who are not, good luck. patience heavily recommended.
