Nowadays I am not calling easy cabs, even if I have some kind of urgency. For short journeys an auto rickshaw is far better or for airport transfers Bangalore Volvos are doing a good Job!
I have 2 short reviews about my 'easycab experience', which I shall keep as brief as possible.
- The first time I chose an Easycab was to travel from the Bangalore airport to the city, this was because my company had a tie up with them and there was a discount per kilometer.
So, I reached the destination, after a lot of street races and shouting, and the driver told me the fair. Then I requested him to bill him according to my company tariff and showed my id card. The guy shouted at me telling that this should be told before getting in to the cab and it's not possible now.
Though a bit startled, I thought I should at least get the bill/receipt so that I can claim it from the company and asked for it. Surprise again! he was unable to give me a bill because of the 'machine complaint'. The story did not end there.
I got out from the cab and started walking, but immediately realized that I have dropped 100 rs somewhere and when turned back the driver was picking up 100 rs and trying to put in his pocket. When I confronted him, the response was "I thought someone else dropped it" and returned it to me.
I mean, if someone is so eager for an undeserved 100 bucks, how safe are us with such drivers?
- The second time: Though I did not really want to try my luck, I was left with no option but to go with an easy cab. This time the problem was a noisy, meter-less cab.
However, the driver charged me as per his wish and may be a little intuition might have helped him too (oh the speedometer was also not working!)
Last minute cancellations and rash driving is very common with easy cabs. Though the other cab services have similar problems, on a comparative scale Easycabs rests on the laurels of the worst pick and drop service.
