Poor service from EasyCabs - long way to go

I would like to bring to your attention the extremely poor service, callous attitude and harassment caused by EasyCabs to my family and me on 11th October at the New Delhi Railway Station.   My first call to the EasyCabs number (43434343) was at 10:15 AM, requesting a cab in front of the Ajmeri Gate terminus of New Delhi station. In response, I was told my cab will be there in 15-20 minutes, and received an SMS mentioning my ID as CAA30379 and car number 6437. Within a few minutes another SMS message was received by me, now mentioning my ID as CFA3585, and car number 6181. Confused, I called EasyCabs again, to clarify about the separate IDs and car numbers, and was told there had been a technical error and that I would receive a call from the driver of the car allotted to me shortly. After waiting for over half an hour, I called again - this time I was given two phone numbers of a driver (9818866679 and 9871297965), whom I was told to call myself and find out how long he would take to reach me.


After this call, I received one more SMS telling me my ID was now CFA3586 and car number 6486. On calling the numbers I was given, I found both numbers were switched off.   When I called back 43434343 again, to inform that the driver's numbers given to me were switched off, I was told the car was already on its way and will reach me in 5-7 minutes. The time was already 10:55AM, and I was waiting in the sun for 40 minutes. We decided to wait for another few minutes, when I received a call at 11 AM from an EasyCabs driver (number 9211488448) saying he was stuck in a traffic jam and would take another 5 minutes to reach me. Till 11:18AM, the time of my third call to the driver, he had still not arrived at the station, and we had to finally leave by a yellow-top regular taxi, agreeing to pay a higher than usual fare and not travelling by meter (paying the prepaid charges, which is much more than the regular meter charges for travelling the same distance).


At the end of this experience, we have come to the realization that (A) EasyCabs has gross deficiency in service and a poor and callous attitude towards its customers, and (B) the transport infrastructure in Delhi is nowhere close to any other world-class city that is being touted.
