My mother aged 83 along with my son 17 years traveled by East Coast Express on 9th May , 2008
with PNR 631-5007501, from Samalkot to Hyderabad by 3 tier A.C. The train comes on platform No.3. As there is no information as to where the A.C couch comes, I went to the Station Superintendent and he directed me to the Ticket Collecter.
On inquiry, I was informed that the A.C coach comes in the front . I once again after taking confirmation from T.C, I took my mother to the far front where the A.C compartment usually halts. To my surprise the A.C coach was at the other end. With a great difficulty I pushed my mother and my son in a sleeper as the train was about to move and they have to walk all the way through the coaches to 3 tier A.C. We had a hell of a time as my mother was 83 years old and was unable to walk such a long distance that too while the train was in movement.
When, I inquired with the T.C , he expressed his helplessness as he has to depend on the information given by the previous station please. I request that the control room may inform the stations about the formations and in turn in the Stations the announcement as to the formation of the A.C coaches may be made to avoid any confusion. When I was discussing this with one of my friends, I was told on some occasions they could not get into the train and have to cancel their journey also.
