There are many reasons to buy a books. Different type of books are considered. If you want a novel, like fiction or non-fiction and want to spend some time at your home reading; paper or traditional books are your best choice. A paper books gives an amazing sense of authenticity to the reader, a satisfaction.
However, if you want to read a reference book and need to look at it from time to time, i.e programming books or how-tos, go for the eBook. They virtually don't occupy any space and you have thousands of books at your disposal. Ebooks are also helpful when you want to spend some time during work(pass-time). Ebooks also allow you to glance through the content easily, with features like highlights and search. Plus, you can customize the font and other features as per your requirement.
For example, I mostly buy paper books when reading stories as I am a huge fan of fiction. But being a developer I have to keep ebooks too. If I encounter a problem at work I can look for the answer.
So, the true answer is a questions: What do you want your book for?
