Dwaja Arohan at Dwarkadhish Temple

This auspicious temple is situated on the bank of the river Gomati. Gomati is the part of the River Ganga. It is said that one should take bath in the river and then should enter in the temple dwarka.

Dwarkadhish or Shri Krishna was the king of Dwarka. He left Mathura and came to Saurastra to rule the Dwarka. Dwarkadhish temple is also known for one auspicious ritual that is Flag hosting(Dwaja Arohan).

My family left Ahmedabad for Dwaja arohan on the top of the temple on 4th March, 2017. They stayed at Damji hotel in Dwarka.

Worship of Shriji Dhwaja was started in the early morning on 5th March, 2017 with Vigheshvaray varday - slokas, Kalash pujan, Gods were prayed by flowers & rice, Guru pujan & kuldevi poojan then dhwajaji poojanan.

Dwajaji was made of 52 yards cloth and 52 small flags. When it was not tailored it was a cloth, as it was tailored together it incarnated divinity of Dwarkadhish swaroop.

After it Dhwajaji was kept at pious feet of dwarikadhish with gifts and then it was handed over to brahmin for flurrying on the mast of dome. This brahmin climbed at the top of dome and hosted dhwajaji. Then threw coconut from dome to beneath this indicates completion of dhwaja poojan.

As mark of devotion & respect, we bowed to dhwajaji. If we respect dwajaji then we respect Lord Dwarkadheesh Maharaj. A present place of dwarika depicts history of dwarika of shri krishna era and dhwajaji represents historical meaning to present generation.

It is said that Devotee has to pass through these fifty-six administrators first to qualify them for darshana and glimpse of dwarkadhish .

This dwaja was red, yellow, white, saffron and pink in colors and it has significance of source of inspiration, Glue prosperity, Inner strength with peace, piousness & cleanliness, prompt to fight against dishonesty, mal practice & injustice and life should be dedicated like rose that it takes thorn like toughness when need arises.

All colors of dhwaja indicates different characteristics respectively which are beneficial for better life.

To perform Dwaja Arohan One has to wait for many years, This time dwaja arohan ritual booking is in the queue till 2024.
