Season offer: Ek movie dekhane jao aur dus ka mazaa lo.

Apr’06: Darna Zaroori Hai: 6 stories, common link.

July’06: Yun Hota Toh Kya Hota: 4 stories, common link.

Dec’07: Dus Kahaniyaan: 10 stories, no common link.

Unlike the earlier crops, this in a way is a preachy. All

stories have some message or the advice for an average Joe watching them.

Matrimony is a

story of a bored wifey(Mandira) neglected by hub

by dear(Arbaaz Khan). She

cheats on him and sleeps with an army officer(Sudhanshu…who?). Directed by Sanjay Gupta, the story ends with a

funny twist which I termed KLPD quite

louder to be applauded from near by sitters in the theatre. Plus: The twist.

Minus: Nil.Jimmy and Masumeh(of Maqbool

fame), high on drugs and alcohol get directed by Hansal Mehta in the story titled High on the highway. Directed on the lines of No Smoking, it fails totally. Plus: Nil. Minus: The whole.

Amrita Singh and her daughter Minisha Lamba share a cordial

bond considering the ever abusing man of the house is hardly at home. Comes Puranmashi(full moon) and enters

mommy’s love flame(Parmeet Sethi) and mommy dear crosses the Lakshman Rekha and dear daughter pays

for it. Only a female director like Meghna

‘Filhaal’ Gulzar could have done this. Plus: Superb direction. Minus: Nil.

Neha Dhupia and her hubby(Mahesh Manjrekar) play ‘truth’

(sans dare) every year on their anniversary and this year it’s lady’s turn. She

narrates a titillating story wherein she met a Stranger in the night. This Sanjay

Gupta directed one is quite intriguing and ends with another KLPD remark from me(though I was

quieter and only family heard). Plus: The twist again. Minus: Nothing much.

The only one where the title of the story(Zahir) had no meaning as per the story.

Manoj Bajpai hits on her neighbor(Dia) and when she slaps him for trying to

steal a hasty kiss, he takes revenge by gagging her and doing her only to

realize later she was trying to say something and that something almost

everyone had already guessed. Plus: Nil. Minus: poorly done. The twist was

quite comical. Another KLPD one I

would say.

A lady(Neha) gets down at the Lovedale station to return the ear-ring which belonged to another

lady(Anuradha Patel). She meets a reclusive painter(Aftab) and they both

realize in the end they love each other after utter nonsense of seriously not

so intriguing twists wherein Anupam Kher also makes an occurrence. Plus: Nil.

Minus: Everything.

Dino can not believe his luck when the bikini clad lady

emerging from the water(Tareena Patel) offers herself to have some Sex on the beach. How can he let go of

her? But what happens to this always-carrying-the-protection dude is nothing

but a failed mockery to Ramsay Brothers and

their style of film-making. Apoorva

‘Shootout at Lokhandwala’ Lakhia directed this crap of all times. Plus: Huh! What? Minus: The Whole.

Shabana aunty and Naseer uncle team up after don’t know how

many years in this riveting tale. She is a typical Brahmin Hindu and he a

Muslim. She can not stand people of other casts and can not accept as true the

fact that she ate his Rice Plate in

the restaurant in hurriedness. Rohit Roy in

his debut as director teaches a lesson or two. Plus: Seeing Shabana and Naseer together. Minus: Nil.

Our good old Nana Patekar carrying 11 Gubbare starts a chit chat with fellow passenger(Anita) and teach

her a lesson or two while conversing about his wifey. A nice feel good one here

by Sanjay Gupta again.Plus: Nana. He was superb. Minus: Predictable climax

Sanjay Dutt and Suniel Shetty are at their best when they

need to do enact anything related to bhaigiri. This story is about their Rise and Fall in the filthy world of

underworld. Just an average one. Plus: Sanjay Dutt. MInus: Weak plot.

P.S.I have tried to review them on the basis of their

distinctiveness to other. However, all being part of one, here is my verdict.

Good ones – 3: Gubbare, Rice Plate and Puranmashi. Crap ones – 2: Lovedale and

Sex on the beach. Rest all are average.
