This is one eating joint everyone must visit once (typical gujarati / maharashtrian / marwari mix fare) and just hog and hog.
It's located on Tilak Road just about 200 meters from the Alka Cinema chowk. The first thing one sees when going up the stairs (unless u take the elevator) is the enormous kitchen area on the first floor. From the entrance one can watch huge pots and pans filled to the brim with delicious goodies with more in various stages of preparation.
On the second floor, it's a totally chaotic scene with uncountable number of people (more so if u happen to visit this place on weekends and holidays). If you are lucky, you will get a table within 10 minutes or so. Once seated, you are absolutely flooded with different types of curries, dry/semi dry vegetables, farsans, sweets (these cost extra mind you!!) and the waiters ensure that your thali is never empty.
Almost all preparations are great (I say almost all as I do not like a few varieties of vegetables), especially the Khichadi/Kadhi combo which is fantabulous. End your meal with the sweet(s) of the day, which can be Gulab Jamuns, Basundi, Srikhand etc etc.
If your legs can hold you upright after a full meal here (if you know when to stop AND can stop when u must), you would have done urself proud.
I recommend it to all food lovers...pretty reasonable too for the kind and range of stuff they serve here.
5 Star rating for food.
