Dum laga ke haisa is about a guy who marries a fat girl under some circumstances and so is the name - this is what seems from the trailer and the film poster but there is a lot more than this in the movie.
The film starts with Prem Prakash(Ayushman Khurana) being a die hard fan of Kumar Sanu and he has a audio cassette shop in haridwar in 1995.
He is a failure is studies and his father(Sanjay Mishra) puts pressure on him to get married and their family meet Sandhya(Bhoomi Pednekar) and her family.
The entire family of Prem liked Sandhya but Prem did not because Sandhya is a very fat girl. But Prem had no choice as Sandhya is way more educated than him and he does not even have a job. So he marries Sandya due to family pressure and but he never liked her.
The story goes on and fights happen between him and Sandhya and after some circumstances it goes to court for divorce.
The court orders them to rethink about divorce and stay for 6 months together. This is the time when they both realize that there is something between them that can hold them for be
together as life partners.
The movie has a very nice flavor of the 90's and it has been shot beautifully in Haridwar.
Each character specially Ayushman, Bhoomi and Sanjay Mishra have been incredible.
Bhoomi on her debut movie has put on a lot of weight for the role and she has done full justice to her character.
The music of the movie is excellent and I love the song "MOH MOH KE DHAAGE" sung by Papon for male version and Monali Thakur for female version. The music is by Anu Malik who has made his come back through this movie and he has delivered some very refreshing tunes.
The story and direction part is also very good but it does not have any twist or turns and does not have a surprising climax but the movie holds for the time.
