A soundtrack which appeared without much hype in mid 1994 proved to become one the year's biggest hits.A unique effort by ARR which was never repeated again... A collaborative effort of 2 titans..

Based on a movie about 2 brothers falling for the same girl, Kadri Gopalnath, the famous indian saxophonist, for the first time collaborates with ARR to give what seem to be mostly sax oriented numbers revolving around a love triangled theme Kadri and his magical saxophone together with ARR's technical prowess gave this albums songs an outstanding effect and the outcome is simply awesome.

The tempo and duet of Saxophone versus the other instruments as well as the singing is simply superb. While one may think the saxophone won over the other instruments, the clear winners are the listeners. as they are treated with an exceptional gem of a musical piece.

The music is simply scintillating stuff..The sax was passionatly used throughout the soundtrack Back in 1994, the movie was liked by mostly romantic buffs of a tragic love story of 2 brothers and a girl.Imo this story was nothing new but it had remants of past tamil movies from the 80s which had similar storylines...

The actors and especially the actress Meenashi Seshadri, who is no longer in the industry now complimented perfectly the overall music scheme of the movie. The opening scene from the movie had the man protagonist playing a sad sax theme and beautifully picturised along with waves..The waves which signify the great impact this soundtrack had in Arr's career.its songs especially AnJali Anjai and Kadhale en Khadale had great camerawork which set a standard to follow.

.A melancholic mood or sadness is prevalent throughout both the movie and soundtrack, even the non romantic numbers The sound quality came as a surprise.it had distinctive southern feel to it..

I could clearly remember the cassette was great sounding just like a Cd, thanks to ARR's advanced equiment.Even the traditional number in the soundtrack was an astounding aural experience at the time..This soundtrack reaffirmed ARR as a technologist One of the early greats by AR Rahman and his best work to date
